This is kind of a strange BBQ place. I went in during lunchtime and they said they didn’t have any BBQ stuff ready, only the rotisserie chicken. It was fine, but the grocery store and a bottle of cheap BBQ sauce is probably better. They have a T-Bone steak on their menu that I will have to try next time. They also sell extra BBQ sauce in tiny cups.

This place surprised me – definitely an interesting restaurant. Because of the name of the place and because of the neighborhood, I was expecting good ol’ Southern BBQ. All the way over I was dreaming of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and sides. Not exactly… The best way I could describe this place is ½ BBQ and ½ Chinese takeout. For meat they have kabobs, different chicken parts, and some steaks. The meat was solid, but the barbecue sauce was awful. Reminded me of the stuff they gave us for hot lunch back in middle school. The sides also caught me off-guard. With your barbecued meat, you get the option of… A. Meat/vegetable fried rice B. 6-way mixed vegetables C. Salad D. stir-fried vegetables(a little more expensive) The menu says, «we welcome you to come & enjoy the new taste of BBQ.» I kinda doubt this«new taste of BBQ» will catch on outside of North Philly or replace traditional BBQ, but all-in-all it is a novel concept with decent food – too bad their sauce isn’t better.
