VIP Lounge — formerly Tragos Toro Lounge — is virtually unchanged from its previous incarnation. Bouncers didn’t care if I wore sneakers, as long as I ponied up for cover($ 10 that night). The DJ wasn’t spinning the best music — a mish-mash of hip-hoppery, pop-poppery, blues and house — but he gave my friend a birthday shout-out and dammit, we had an excellent time. We indulged in bottle service which got us at least two bottles — we did an insane amount of drinking and lived to tell about it — and our server was fast and friendly, probably in part because we knew her. A literal biker reunion was going on that night, and it was quite crowded. I’m pleased to report the natives were friendly — but I’m not sure if they’re regulars. In the event you get bored, there’s Whistle Bar next door.
