Voices and Visions

The sign caught my eye at first. I tried to peer into the window because I thought it was some sort of «new-​age» bookstore, but due an unfortunate glare off of the ice I couldn’t see and thus went in to check it out. I thought my «new-​age» suspicions were correct when I saw a couple of random walking sticks lined up and an odd guy in a small top hat with a wiry mustache behind the counter. I expected to find books about the healing powers of crystals or how to gain knowledge from inhaling the exhaust of a strange combination of burning flowers. But to my dismay, all I found was an over-​priced, understocked bookstore. There is no REAL reason to visit here, if you find yourself in the area and are randomly jumped by an overly aggressive Augusten Burroughs fan, run in and buy him a copy of Running With Scissors to distract him. Otherwise, I’d find somewhere else.
