Words can’t even describe how horrible this place really is… maybe dirty insane asylum? Filthy zoo? At least in the zoo the animals are in cages. Let’s be positive here and look at the silver lining: You can take your kids here to show them what their life could be like if they completely fuck up (drugs, no ambition, etc.etc.). Only take them once because even that might scar them for life.

When a customer ask for locations if certain items, you do not need to snicker or smack your tongue. Just because you hate your job, dont take it out on the customers.

Two words: HELL HOLE! This place is absolutely horrible! I mean, granted, WalMart in general is a horrible company and attracts the lowest forms of life, but this particular location is like NOTHING I’ve seen before. The most uneducated, incompetent employees and the absolute worst customers that’ll make you embarrassed to be considerate human beings. Avoid this place at all costs!

Not the cleanest or nicest store, but gets the job done — lots of low cost household items. You just can’t beat those prices.

Deli service is super slow. Only 1 person working both cooked and deli department. Poor customer service, grouchy employees

Frank Pellicori, is the best. I had a small issue with a online purchase and I went directly to this location. The manager was very professional, helpful and resolved my issue immediately. He made sure I received my deep freezer that I purchased online. I wish there were managers like him at other locations!

I’ve waited to write a review about this Walmart. After my experience tonight I’m going to write one. The cashier at number 23 was very disrespectful and rude. I didn’t have a chance to look at her name batch. I couldn’t agree more about what these fellow Unilocalers has to say about this Walmart. Very rude and unprofessional employees working here. They definitely need to hire more decent workers. Always a long line, and unhelpful sale associate that’s working on the floor also. If there were to be another Walmart close by I wouldn’t even step foot back at this location.

Walmart-​the place that care forgot. South Philly is one of the strangest places I have ever worked. So couple that experience with Walmart and you have a match made in the truly bizarre. In all truth I do love working in South Philly, the people are so real and genuine, some more real than others. That being said the Walmart rivals any other in the country for bizarre. It is always busy, and the staff work hard to keep the place shoppable. I feel bad for anyone who works there, I have observed customers literally abusing the staff verbally. It is a tough life. I typically do not frequent Walmart, but when I do, when I have too I usually find what I need there. This place is always busy, and I am not sure about crime statistics in the parking lot, but I am sure they are in line with the rest of the country. I will say I go to the Home Depot 300 yards away, and there is about 90% less chaos in the parking lot over there as opposed to Walmart. I would say be aware of your surroundings. Enough said.

Can I give them no stars? I ordered a tent for an event due to unexpected rain. The website said ready in store today. I paid then it says just kidding don’t come down til we email you. Guess what I don’t get? An email. I called asking what’s up. The person on the phone I can barely understand can’t help me and isn’t interested in putting someone on the phone who can. I then go to bed hoping that the day shift will actually do their job. I get the email on the way to the store that says I can pick it up, after ten am, 15 hours after I was told «give us your money we have it in store ready for pickup today.»
I get there hit all three buttons requesting customer assistance. 5 minutes go by, no one comes. I call the store. I explain my situation. Uh sir you should see a sign behind the counter saying that department does not open until ten.
Yes I can read, that is what got me into this mess with my event starting across town in 2 hours. You fools took my money then said just kidding its not available til we say so and we don’t feel like telling you when that will be.
Employee comes to counter. Looks for my tent by looking around and opening a door in the back and looking in there for 5 seconds. Then says someone is looking for it. Really? I didn’t see you ask anyone to look for it. Are you telepathic?
Then a line of people come in who are able to pick up their online orders before ten. I have now been here for 30 minutes. I ask is someone still looking for my tent? «Oh» she says. «It right here.» Are you kidding me? You let me wait while you help all these people who came in after me and don’t tell me someone found it til I ask again?
Never again. I have come to expect poor service here because it is a Walmart after all. But that was straight out of a kafka novel.

Parking lot is insane. Cars without handicap placards parking in handicap stalls. Cars parked all along the fire lane blocking vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Store employees yelling. Outside vendors hawking water, cable packages inside the store and a woman selling bootleg DVD outside. Food abandoned in the makeup aisle or the checkout lane. The place is a mess. I’ve been to Walmarts all over the globe and I have to say this one is by far the grossest. But if you look at the slobs shopping there, you’ll see why. The sad thing is employees don’t see to care.

I’ve decided to pay more and shop at Target. The lines are always long, they seem to be understaffed, and the store is always a mess. I only shop here if I desperately need something that I can’t find elsewhere.

Today, a roving gang of youths was terrorizing customers with basketballs, flinging them into customers’ carts. Nothing was done to stop them, despite the fact that store associates knew about it.
Being assaulted while shopping is beyond unacceptable!
Cashier was too busy screaming at colleagues about how she didn’t want to be there, to keep track of items on the counter. She informed me of my total, but then I informed her that we weren’t done. She then bitched loudly at me about how she couldn’t know that. Of course she couldn’t. She wasn’t paying the slightest attention to the task at hand; just to her girl-​gabfest. So rude!
I’m done with this location. I will never set foot in it again, and I wrote Corporate to this effect.
Hire decent people, and ensure a safe shopping environment. The place is a friggin’ zoo, and all the animals are loose!

For a Walmart, located in South Philly, this is probably going to be as great as it can get. Given you made the choice to go here, don’t expect anything beyond most-​likely-​horrible customer service. Long lines all the time. Store associates who are unwilling to help.
Before it became a super walmart, trust me this was way worse!

–Long lines (they have 40 registers and no one working them) just look for the loud group and that’s the workers.

This walmart has got to be the worst place for customer service. My dad and I was standing in line, checking out as usual. The employee (cashier) who tend to us is about the worst, she is in her muslim garb, looked hateful towards us. Anyway, my dad was paying so he placed the money and coins on the table, didn’t think nothing of it. She refused to pick them up but just stared at us with her palm out with the expression, «You better place those cash in my hand». We did so and she just rolled her eyes and we just felt hate oozing out of her. My goodness, I never experience such hatred vibes. These people hate their jobs or they just don’t understand what true work ethics is all about, the customers are first not them. At the very least show some respect and greet people as if you are grateful for the job you have and not feel like you are ‘entitled’.
I would never step foot in here again, it is just a hell hole of a place with the rudest and ungrateful cashiers I ever encountered.
If you are the WALMART manager of this place, please correct your morale of your employees and environment!

For food this place is the best :) however don’t expect much from the employees because they may have to actually do something n oh no we wouldn’t want that.

Based on other reviews, I was bracing myself for a post-​apocalyptic experience.
To my surprise, when I got there, I was only met with a semi post-​apocalyptic one, since maybe just under half of the store was low on stock, and things that were in stock were actually quite well-​organized, with the exception of just a few stray objects laying around some aisles.
While it’s a bit out of the way, and sure, only 2 registers are open in the entire store at a time, this is still a great place to shop if you are on a budget and may find it necessary to temporarily set aside deep thoughts about this company’s business practices in the scope of humanity in order to obtain some necessities.
I had been to some other Walmarts years ago, but after 4 years in Philly, I finally set foot here because I needed a bunch of sheer curtain panels that I somehow couldn’t find anywhere else. Also, while I was expecting a stretch of wasteland instead of a parking lot, our parking experience was actually quite smooth, both on the way in and on the way out.
In this manner, my first visit to this Walmart location since the beginning of time surpassed my expectations by a long shot, and that is a feat worthy of praise.

I was honestly unaware that people would take the time to review a Walmart, especially one in Philly. But this is a chance to reveal publicly that my friends and I take «Hungover Walmart trips.» Look, I get that Walmart is one of the last places you’d give a 5 star review, but I think your rating should at least reflect your expectations. Realistically, it’s a pretty awful place to shop. And realistically, I’m in my mid 20s, and I’m realistically very poor, second only to broke college students.
If Walmart starts at a 5-​star, the fellow customers bring it to a 2. The availability of motorized carts (broken foot) brings it to a 4. The customer service puts it at 2. The lack of outdoor gear takes it down to a 1. But the rare gem of a very sweet cashier brings it back to 3. Consider your heart warmed.
Side note, my trips to Walmart are not limited to being hungover. It’s open 24 hours a day, and when I need something, I get it.

Being a broke college student, this place does wonders. However this particular branch, I am convinced is a plot twist of Dante’s Inferno. It is chaotic. You would think it was a daycare, at the rate wild kids stampeded and scream through out the store. Not to mention the staff has no customer service skills and are just plain RUDE, as most Walmarts, and everything is everywhere. Did I mention there are creepy unmarked taxi drivers constantly trying to get you into their cabs. No, just NO.
I would suggest avoiding this place like the plague.

This branch has very poor standards. To start off… today on my way out of their store, I was passing their Mc Donald’s section and nearly slipped on a patch of water on the floor. And then I thought to myself… «WTF where are the wet floor signs? This is a check out area where everyone would go through to get to the door.» Seeing that the place is always messy with unpacked inventory laying around obstructeing isles and what not… I guessing they don’t care much about appearance or safety in their store. Keep it up Walmart!!! You are nuturing an environment for multiple future accidents and potential lawsuits. Awesome effort!!! «Where is a –1 Star when you need one»
