They cheesesteak here are slice very thin but it only 7 slices. some how always get the last slice super small. The meal is about over 15 bucks. Cheesesteak, fires, and soda. The cheese is not so fresh for the price of the cheesesteak. The bread is super but not enough beef slices to cover the whole cheesesteak. I would not go back there again.

I’ve only been here a handful of times(usually starving after a long night of drinking) and there’s a reason to go here while wasted. I admit that I’m a cheesesteak snob but their steaks are soggy, meat is barely there, you get twice the amount of wiz than you do meat. And hey, maybe if you get another kind of cheese, it wouldn’t be so terrible, but if wiz isn’t on your steak, it’s not a true steak. They don’t offer sweet peppers.

Just ok maybe… to much competition to be a maybe… I guess as long as the bars on the Ave are open they will survive….

Let me first say that I have been a regualr here for a couple years now until recently. The sandwiches used to be high quality dripping out of the bun gooey goodness. The last couple times I have stopped in after a fun night out at Frankford and Cottman I went home sad because my routine cheeseteak wasn’t right. Sandwich was mostly cheez whiz. Skimpy on the meat. I won’t say I’ll never go again, but I will think twice before proceeding.

Ate here once. It was ok. Service was fine. Cheese steaks are average. Nothing spectacular or outstanding. A little thin on the meat though. It made it a Flimsy sandwich. Fries are average also. Nothing stands out at this place compared to other places on fkd ave. Nothing bad about it, but it’s nothing special.

I have not had a cheese steak in a while so I decided to tryWit or witout again. I ordered a cheese steak with provolone cheese and sauce plus cheese fries with melted american cheese. It was delicious. It was so good I actually put the fires in the steak sandwhich. I made quite a mess but it was worth it. The people that worked there were friendly and the other customers were friendly as well. The steak was good, it wan’t chewy at all. I enjoyed being able to see my food cooked. Brought back memories of when I was a younger man growing up in South Philadelphia. all in all I had an enjoyable meal and pleasant experience.

Went there for the first time last week and both me and my husband were not impressed(went to the one on Red Lion Road). The meat was stringy and very chewy and there just wasn’t a lot of flavor going on. We’ll stick with Steve’s Prince of Steaks. Now that’s a good cheesesteak.

Was decent until the new management. They wouldn’t honor the coupons that the last management sent out to people. In addition, the geniuses working here have gotten my order wrong three times and were very disrespectful about fixing it. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. With the bad customer service, I take my business elsewhere. Cheesesteaks are as common as squirrels in Philly, so you’re not missing out by skipping on Wit or Witout.

Not a fan of this place for cheesesteaks but their fries were good. I got a cheesesteak with American cheese and pizza fries. Drove home super excited to dig in, took a bite, wasn’t impressed. Too greasy and lack of flavor. But the fries were crispy with perfectly melted cheese and a good amount of sauce. I would get fries from here but no cheesesteaks.

Without a doubt sub par cheesesteak.

Don’t get a pizza steak. There sauce is gross. I never tasted sauce like that in my life. Save your money. Its just not good and expensive

Used to be a regular… loved the cheesesteak and fries. Quality has taken a HUGE hit… Hadn’t gone in for several months after a poor quality steak. Gave them another chance today and I was equally disappointed. I used to call them my favorite cheesesteak, but now they are bland. To add further insult, the prices went up and they seem to be cutting in even more areas than meat. Plus, the Wiz and even the ketchup seem watered down. It’s in a Heinz dispenser but that’s not legitimate Heinz coming out. In short: quality way down, prices way up.

Some of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had have come from wit or witout! They use fresh provolone cheese, and the portion size is huge(which is great cause I get 2 meals for the price of one). The meat and rolls are fresh too. Wit or Witout is one of my top go to cheesesteak places in the city.

Decided to give the place another try and it was terrible. Their Facebook page said they started delivering and so we decided to put an order in. Turns out, they don’t deliver anymore. Already having our order figured out, we decided to pick it up. Steak was terribly fatty. I was spitting out pieces of fat like they were seeds from a watermelon. Never eating here again.

This place would be awesome solely for the fact that they are open until 3am, letting people like me stumble out of one of the 20 bars in a 5 block vicinity and get my late-night grub on. On top of that, however, the cheesesteaks are really very good(yes, I’ve had them sober). Melted American on top is way better than some cheesesteak places that just put a slice on top of the meat to melt on its own. LAME. But this place is pretty darn good. The cheese fries are really good too. They’re pretty cheap, too, compared to some places around the city. I think $ 10 for a cheesesteak and fries.

Great steaks and they are expanding their selections. Prices are climbing but are still reasonable.

I was hoping for something a bit better. The prices here are what really brought me in. They were definitely a less expensive alternative than other places in the immediate area. Reviews had been generally good, so I wanted to give it a shot. But once I got into the food, it was downhill from there. The steaks seemed a bit overcooked to me, a bit too chewy for my liking. Which was surprising as there was no line when I went there. The rolls were good, and they had all the required cheeses(including whiz). The fries were super greasy though. They were clearly in the oil too long, were kinda of a mess and I couldn’t finish them. I’ll probably give them one more shot, see if I caught them on a bad cooking day or something.

The quality has dropped dramatically since it opened. I used to eat here ALL the time but since moved. Stopped in for a cheesesteak and cheese fries around 8pm this past week for take-out. I got home, opened the bag and found a soggy mess of smashed extremely undercooked french fries that amounted in size to a small handful. The steak was ok but soggy. Now the whole $ 1.00 for a side of cheese is outrageous especially when it’s lumpy and seems like it’s from the bottom of the container. For the just under $ 12.50 I paid it was a huge disappointment.

This is getting real close to a five. Nothing but sliced goodness on a good roll. The one thing that got me was the runny cheese. It just didn’t have that slightly thicker texture that would’ve made it amazing. Wit or Witout has been consistently good, despite that. The fries have improved but now they serve it with a dipping cup of cheese. Also, I saw a sign that advertised a chicken fingers combo for six bucks. Guess they’re expanding. FYI, they charge tax now.
