Bought a hunting rifle here today. Dropped several hundred dollars. I’m from a small rural town and am used to personable service. The buying process was easy enough. But the customer experience was just like a rifle barrel, cold and steely. It’s ok to be cautious in your business. However, the spirit of the shop feels way too paranoid. The wall paraphernalia and stickers displayed everywhere reinforce the stereotypical image of an ignorant, antsy and suspicious gun shop owner. In the future, I’ll re-​supply and spend my money at another location with a more knowledgable and helpful vendor. Peace.

Real unassuming place on the outside. When you walk inside they have a great stock of new guns/​rifles and some used. I went in to browse around and came out with a new gun. Very knowledgeable people and very friendly. They want to help.
I would go out of my way to come back and browse… and maybe buy something else.

For such a dingy-​looking, unassuming little building on the outside, these folks have it goin’ ON inside! Great selection, knowledgable staff, good deals to be hand in droves— I even found several bricks of 22LR which these days is more than a little like winning the friggin’ LOTTO. Woot!
Class III par excellence. Add to that, there just a stone’s throw from the Santiam River, where you can nab some most excellent Steelhead, year round. Dooms day preppers stand up! These folks will help supply my post WWIII bunker for many moons to come, or at least till the Zomb-​pocalypse is fully underway. Like the Boyscouts say, ‘Be Prepared.’ …

I have bought several pistols at the shop and have found the help by far the best. We shoot up on Marys Peak at the rock quarry and all our guns from the Philomath Gun Shop shoot flawlessly. It’s a great place to go and buy a gun if you do not know much about guns and want to get started in a great hobby or sport.

Nice down-​to-​earth guys in here! I’ve bought a gun and supplies there and have taken my mom, son, and friend there to get guns and supplies too. They are VERY helpful and really know their stuff! They are cheaper than anywhere else I’ve shopped for guns and related supplies. They go way beyond to get the gun that’s best for you. It takes over an hour to get there from my house — but they are well worth it!

The Philomath Gun Shop is straight up awesome.
I have purchased 4 pistols from these guys and I am more than pleased with the knowledgeable and helpful staff that has guided me towards my purchases. Wes is the owner of the store and he has given me some great deals on ammo and pistols. With awesome customer service combined with a huge selection (the biggest in the area), the Philomath Gun Shop has earned my business for years to come. Keep on keeping on guys.

Want to know how to piss off a decent customer? Let that customer ask for help in wanting to buy a plug for his Glock and get blown off by the help with a «Rock star» attitude. I guess the gun sales and accessory business is booming and you didn’t need my business. You hold at two stars because of your selection and past experiences.

Prices are good, and the selection is among the best in the area. That coupled with the knowledgable staff makes this my first choice to buy firearms and accessories.
