We had a lovely time here yesterday. We were warmly greeted by the owner (have forgotten her name). She shared several library wines that she had open from a prior event. That was a treat. We enjoyed the wine particularly the Malbec. We recommend stopping for tasting of good, affordable wine.

One of the best Syrah’s in Oregon! Can always learn the latest and greatest for how the grapes are doing as well. Great place!

Having been tasting in Hood River (and elsewhere) a bit I can’t say I found the wines at Spindrift very impressive. None of the wines they had available for tasting were very flavorful. There was a barrel tasting in the back room and one of the 2011s tasted promising, but still nothing stellar. Prices are pretty standard. I didn’t end up buying anything.

I’m a happy member of their wine club — this means for one payment every two months I get to try an amazing monthly wine. The 2006 Pinot Noir Reserve is a Gold medal winner and must have while it lasts; especially fruity and aromatic for a pinot. Not a huge white wine fan, but their pinot gris is lush and citrusy– you forget it’s a white. Their syrah reminds me of a thick Calfornia juicy syrah, but is much more balanced and finishes light, not too heavy. Best of all, they are just a few miles down the road from me in Philomath and the owners are locally grown, too, like their wonderful wines. Are you in the club??? #corvsmb
