Marlene’s Garden Center

I came up to Kentucky for the weekend to help my parents mulch their yard. My dad came by Marlene’s to get a couple scoops of Bear Hollow mulch. They have brown, red and black in color for mulch. You can get a tracker scoop of the mulch for $ 20. We got 3 scoops to start with, but had to come back for one more scoop.
Marlene’s has four large greenhouses, each full of different flowers and plants. They also have a bunch of different concrete yard decorations if that’s your thing. They’ve got a variety of vegetable plants, flowers, shrubs and trees. The staff here are friendly.
One of my issues is that they accept credit cards but they have a sign on the cash register that states they would rather you use cash or check because the credit card fees are high. I understand that they’re small business, but if you take cards, you shouldn’t guilt people into not using it. I think they should just stick to cash/​check and be done with it. I doubt any of the customers would care.
