This is a great Big Lots. It’s clean, well organized, and the stock is always in great condition. The staff always greets you at the door, and will happily inform you of any sales or promotions within the store. I just moved to Phoenix and was able to purchase a really nice patio bistro set for $ 60(table/2chairs). They have other inexpensive patio furniture available as well. If you sign up to be a member of their rewards program they will send you coupons and 4 times a year they have an event where you get 20% off everything in the store. That’s a nice plus if you plan on making a larger purchase, like for furniture.

They make it a point to greet you as you come in the door. I like that. Other than that I guess it’s a regular, modest sized Big Lots, in their usual semi or more decrepit or at least past its prime shopping plaza location. Staff has always been helpful with my modest requests and the cashiers are pleasant — even friendly. Quality of good varies: cheap business envelopes where the glue is not holding on the seams, and a number of unheard of(at least by me) brands of possibly fine, but unknown quality, with some bargains at the bread bin, and occasional finds like illy canned coffees at a 1⁄3 or more less than the ones on the shelf of convenience and drug stores. My plastic double-fan for the window was a good buy and is now working on it’s second fall season and I’ve found it a good source of REASONABLY priced tablet covers and phone accessories. At night, this store is a lighthouse in an otherwise very dark little shopping center on the SW corner of Thunderbird and 35th Ave.

OK it’s Big Lots. Don’t expect too much. I know I don’t go there for quality or everyday shopping. But when you need to buy broom for couple uses or gift for a kid I don’t really know who is or what they want it is a great(read cheap) place to go. On occasions I get surprised to find some steals(Red Mill steel cut oats for $ 1.5, Downy dryer sheets $ 2). Be smart about your shopping, check the dates on food items and don’t expect everlasting quality — then enjoy your shopping at Big Lots
