For the subs with the MOST meat you have ever seen (except maybe on Man Vs. Food), head to Big Mike’s in Phoenix. Mike’s is an institution in Phoenix — they had a shop in the middle of town for a long time before they moved to their current location about 15 years ago. Along with the best ham sub I can get anywhere in the area, they have pizza, burgers, and all the regular accompaniments like fries (with gravy), jalapeño poppers, and mozzarella stick. Their seafood ain’t half bad either — including clam strips and fried haddock. You won’t find anything fancy here — but it is solid greasy spoon fare that will leave you satisfied.
One caveat — the pizza isn’t probably anything you will be excited about unless you grew up eating it.
