Stephen is an amazing teacher, with so much experience to go along with it! I signed up to take a Portrait Workshop with him ($ 45 for a two hour session), and was expecting it to be classroom style with at least 10 other attendees where we would probably be taking notes– I was dead wrong!
He actually emailed me personally to confirm the workshop. There ended up only being 2 of us, probably because he offers workshops monthly, and we got actual one-​on-​one coaching from him… cameras in hand! It was exactly the kind of class I’ve been looking for as a beginner photographer. I didn’t need another class that taught me about the settings, I needed a class where I could practice taking photos and have the teacher look at the results with me and even then take the next step and show me how to improve the results. Stephen was so personable, witty, and talkative… the three of us talked for over 2 hours, and it felt like more of a conversation than a class. He’s truly a people-​person, and I felt like he actually got to know us rather than just spitting out his knowledge… which he has A LOT of knowledge!
I’ll definitely sign up for more classes with him to continue my learning, because as he says, we are never done learning when it comes to photography!

Got to take a photo workshop here today. It made me excited about photography again! Steve is incredibly knowledgeable, but able to break it down for us photo novices! He made technical and dry info enjoyable. He’s got a sharp wit, which I definitely appreciated! Now… off to figure all this camera stuff out!
