Checkmark Transmissions

This has proven to be a very honest, efficient and reliable business! The shop isn’t close to my house, but the drive is worth it EVERY time.
My transmission was slipping in addition to making abnormal noises. I took my truck to a nearby shop and was quoted $ 3500 for a transmission and transfer case rebuild. I was then referred to Mark after consulting with a friend of mine. Mark promptly informed me that my transfer case was still in good working condition, the obnoxious noise was a loose bolt on my rear differential (which he tightened-​free of charge), and that he could rebuild my transmission while providing a 12 month unlimited mile warranty…$ 1622 later I was an extremely happy customer! I have since gone back to Mark for brakes and other various work. I’m still as happy with them as I was on day one!

Going through the same issues Mike went through. He said it would take 3 days to do the job and it’s in the shop now for 2 weeks and going!!!
No calls as Mike said, we would be the ones calling him!
Because we needed a vehicle he had nothing for us to use as a loaner, we had to rent a vehicle. He said he will reimburse us $ 20 a day and we are paying close to $ 50 a day with fees, additional driver, etc… I had to ask him to reimburse us! For being a professional you take responsibility and offer to pay for the full rental price or have a loaner available!
As a professional you can’t blame anything on anyone else… You say something, then follow through and do what you say!!! Don’t know where you all keep saying professional about this shop!!! Have not experienced anything professional yet!!!
After two weeks and counting we are still waiting on the truck, and will let you know if the next review will be better or worse!

This is by far the most unprofessional, dishonest and filthy shops I have ever had the displeasure of getting screwed by. I bought a truck with a transmission Mark had recently rebuilt less than 4k miles previously. The transmission was making noise so I took it to him despite the 2 hour drive. I left it with him over night as he requested. He never called me, I always had to call him and he gave me the run around acting as if he couldn’t verify the noise. He obviously lacks pride in his work, lacks integrity and is an embarrassment to the automotive industry and the very reason repair shops have a bad rap. I work for a very honest, reputable repair shop that takes pride in our work. We make mistakes, we stand up and make it right. This guy is an embarrassment to America.

I own an autobody & paint shop and have had countless number of jobs done by Mark at Checkmark!
He is always professional, fast and keeps his word on the price quoted. If ever there is a difference from the previously discussed/​agreed to, he calls right away & lets you know of any changes needed.
EVERYONE knows that a used transmissions has no guarantee of being better than the one being replaced, that’s why there are tons of them available in the junkyards!
You can simply not compare the job of taking one tranny out and putting another one in and actually rebuilding a tranny!
I am a certified mechanic and wouldn’t dare take my transmission work to anyone other than MARK.
Buyer-​be-​ware… when it comes to mechanical work, cheaper usually ends-​up being more expensive! Mark is not the cheapest around, but in 10 years, he has never let me down ONCE!
