Dearing Acting Studio

I just finished up with my first month-​long class at Dearing Acting Studio and I have nothing but good things to say. My class had the perfect number of students, ages ranging from late teens to 40s. It was the perfect mix of both males and females with varying degrees of experience. My instructors were consistent, and both Brian Sweeney and Matt Dearing were excellent; their styles complimented each other wonderfully. I can tell they take their classes very seriously (but not too seriously) which is perfect.
Whether you’re an aspiring actor/​actress looking to hone your craft and work with other like-​minded people, or you’re simply a hobbyist looking to break out of your shell and become more amiable in daily life, I feel confident recommending this studio. It is highly likely that you will both enjoy and value the time you spend here, and you will likely be coming back for more.

Let me preface this review by writing that I LOVE everyone that work at or is part of Dearing Studio. I love Brian Sweeney who is such a genuine person and will go out of his way to teach you or make you happy. They have great acting classes, great location, flexible pricing and is supportive of the acting community.
Why 4 stars and not 5? For the fact that both of the classes that I took,
the teacher has not stayed consistent throughout the duration of the course.
One class had so many subs from week to week, I forgot who my original teacher was suppose to be. The other one listed one instructor (and the reason I decided to take the class), another instructor taught the first class (needless to say I was very disappointed) then a different instructor taught the remaining classes.
If they can iron these details out, then I would gladly give them 5 stars!

You won’t find a better acting school in the Valley. Dearing Studio classes and teachers are top notch. They switch the classes up each month and have a huge variety to choose from. As an actor, I cannot emphasize how important it is be well-​versed in all aspects of the craft.
I’ve consistently gotten callbacks and bookings and I know that it’s due to my training at the Dearing Acting Studio. They truly care about the success of each of their students and I’m proud to say I’m part of the Dearing Studio family.

i just finished another class here… Improv Games. i was so green to these style of «acting». i’m not quick witted… it usually takes me up to a day to come up with a «witty» reply. i’m more of a potty mouth, personal attack, politically incorrect response kind of guy, which obviously means i need to expand my vocabulary.
javier whom led the class, was above helpful and insightful. he kept us motivated and critiqued the performances in a highly constructive way. i was also impressed at how he handled many of the younger students, whom seemed to have issues with not talking and paying attention at the right moments.
again, great class and instructor. i can’t wait for my moment on the big screen… one action mega-​blockbuster hit!!!

My son has been taking acting classes here for many months. This studio is awesome, they change classes each month to hold the interest of the students. Matt and Leann are amazing owners, actors and inspiration for the younger students. Leann is a Go Daddy Girl, acts in many films, commercials and much more. Matt has films and commercials to his credit as well.
There is so much going on at this studio that it is hard to not be there for hours a week. In addition to classes, they do Chaos Comedy on Saturday nights and it is packed. Great improv comedy for the whole family, as they keep it very clean.
Their memberships are reasonably priced and they care about training you, not ripping you off. There is never an upsell, just honest, family owned fun.
I can’t recommend them high enough.
