Love our neighborhood hardware store. I’ve been here many times and there are always plenty of employees eager to help you find what you need with a lot of knowledge. Great selection for a small neighborhood shop. Love it.

So close to home and always ready with helpful and extremely knowledgable staff. Not like HD, where NOBODY is around to help. Chuck was super helpful and actually saved me money by showing me I could restore my kitchen cabinet hardware with a $ 4 bag of steel wool rather than completely repainting them. He was very knowledgable and didn’t try to upsell me at all. My first choice for garden and home improvement needs.

Update… After $ 160 unnecessary purchase at HD, the job is done with no issues. If a hardware store intends to protect its customers from danger, and themselves from all liability, I suggest you limit your selection to air filters and garden gnomes…

I dropped off my shade screens to be reworked, and was very surprised to see the amount of stock they have added in this store. I asked about the change and found out they have a new owner. Not only do they have a variety of items including a garden shop, but they have a number of each item, and very well organized. I was asked by 3 people if they could help me on my way back to the screen department. I will keep coming back.(screens were done quickly and they kept their promise date.) Update 5÷20÷15− Matt in the pool department was able to help me with a difficult filter valve issue that saved me buying a new $ 130.00 valve and having to re-plumb my system.

The best service experience I’ve ever had in a hardware store. It’s close to home so if I need something quickly I always go here. You can barely get 2 feet in the door before someone is offering to help and if the check out person isn’t serving at the time, they always call out ‘hello’. Cindy in the garden section is an absolute fount of knowledge. Whilst I still travel to Home Depot for big shops, I’m so thankful to have this store on my doorstep… did I mention the free popcorn by the front door?

Terrible prices. Horrible customer service. I rather walk 5 miles to Home Depot then shop here again.

I hate to write a review for a local hardware store so conveniently located in my backyard, but recent service I received when purchasing window screens for my home was less than ideal. As for running into Ace for small items for the home — I think they do a great job with keeping a large and ample inventory. They are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. However, if you choose to do a larger project or make a larger purchase in which they will utilize a sub contractor for the work, be careful. In my experience Foothills Ace takes a total lack of ownership over the process and quality of their sub contractors. Working with the General Manager Pat was also a challenge. Ace says in their website that«helping their customer is their first priority». That is not the case with these more expensive jobs. I am totally disappointed with the lack of ownership and follow-thru from Pat and Greg with Armadillo LLC. At this time, my attempts to speak with owner Kevin Cash have gone unanswered. I will continue to patronize Ace and support local business for my small ticket items, but it is doubtful I will ever use them again for more detailed projects — which is too bad.

This Ace Hardware makes you feel like you live in a small town. Sue knows that if I’m buying paint it means my husband is out of town and she always asks to see pictures of how the project turned out. The plants in the landscaping department actually are in good shape and last through the hot summers. If you are wandering lost because you have no idea what part to buy for your broken toilet and someone will walk you through EXACTLY what to buy and how to fix it. Near the front they have a wonderful gift area that you would not expect to see in a hardware store. Sometimes if I have an extra 15 minutes and I’m in that area I will stop by because I know that I will find some kind of fun project for the home or a perfect gift for someone.

Convenient location. Smaller store than the big boxes means a lot less wandering around. Helpful staff. Good selection; you’d be surprised what they’re able to pack into this small location. Save yourself the frustration; try Foothills Ace first. They’ll probably have what you’re looking for, and you’ll save a ton of time too.

They have both nuts and bolts! Actually pretty helpful, short hours, but good pool supply section and great staff.

I was teetering between 4 and 5 stars for this Ace Hardware for awhile. Oh how I wish there was a ½ star! I bumped it up to 5 stars because, well, they are just that helpful! Instead of writing a length review that not many people will bother reading, I have decided to neatly organize the strong points, as follows: HELPFULNESS: A+ — The employees are just the right amount of helpful here. There is no annoying following you around the store which makes you feel like a criminal. Instead, employees come by to ask if you need help and then are on their merry way if you don’t. On my most recent visit, I was looking for flat metal washers for a project. I was hoping for something inexpensive, but all I could find were plumbing washers that were a lot more than I wanted to spend. I looked up and at just the right time, someone was there to direct me to exactly what I needed. That brings me to the next point… PRICE: Well, here is where I would normally detract a ½ star from Ace Hardware. Depending on what you are seeking, Ace tends to be quite a bit higher in price than, say, your local Big Box store. However, on this particular trip, I found a box of 100 flat 5⁄16 washers for approximately $ 4. The SAMEEXACT box of washers was $ 14 at Lowe’s. Wow. Just wow. CONVENIENCE: Here is where Foothills Ace gets back its ½ star. Foothills Ace is THE most convenient hardware store for Ahwatukee Foothills residents. There is no getting on I-10 to go to Lowe’s or Home Depot, several miles down the road. It is conveniently located right next to Native New Yorker, in the same plaza as Loco Patron. It is VERY convenient. KNOWLEDGE: Have you ever gone to Home Depot and sought help on a project only to be given a set of shrugged shoulders and a «You might want to try… X» which was completely the wrong advice? Well, I have. A few times. And that is when I could even FIND someone to help me. At Ace Hardware, the employees KNOW hardware. Beyond that, they are often ex-contractors or seasoned Do-It-Yourself-ers. They KNOW what they are talking about, be it plumbing or painting or whatever. If you have a project, go to Ace. Ask for help. And then thank them by giving them your business. It may cost you a little more on the front end, but you will save loads because you will have the RIGHT instructions the first time. OVERALL: Go to Ace for project advice, helpful employees, or even to get your keys made. And definitely go to Ace for flat washers.
