Double Tree Home Inspection

I sold my home last year in Scottsdale and the buyer had this company do the inspection. The report was very detailed and caught things we never noticed. It was quite extensive and yes, there were a lot of little things, as the previous reviewer mentioned as «nit-​picky», but he also caught some some big things. I’m now buying another house and thank goodness I saved all my documents from my previous sale including his report with the company name. I phoned and his name is Eric. You definitely want this guy if you are a buyer and beware if you are a seller, (lol) you’re gonna have to fix a lot of those nit-​picky things, but to me, that means the guy does a very thorough job.

My experience is quite different than the other two reviews. Eric inspected two homes: the one I was purchasing and the one I was selling. I have to say he is incredibly inconsistent — many (read not one or two, or even three or four but Many) safety and other issues found on one home were not noted on the other and vice versa. I also had a bit of a problem that the termite inspector not only performed and inspection but also provided a quote. Im sure this is a convenience to some but the quote was a «low ball» and prevented me from negotiating the use of a company I trust for pest control. Personally, I would not use him again.

Eric does do an overly thorough job on each home inspection and cites out every little thing that is wrong with a home. Might seem exaggerated at times, but that’s what you want in a home inspector. Better to err on the cautious side than to be surprised by something later on. That’s why I recommend him to my clients.
As an agent, sometimes I do cringe wondering what he has uncovered, but I know I am doing my clients a proper service– by getting them all the details and leaving them with no surprises on their new home.
I am a little surprised by anyone who would think Eric overly nit-​picked a home. Sometimes the truth hurts!
Eric does all of his own inspections and is extremely busy due to his positive reputation in the business. He will still find time for you and answers his cell phone to answer your questions anytime.
I have worked with other inspectors in the past, but have recommended Eric for 5 years now, and don’t see a need to make a change again.
Some inspectors like to give a glowing reviews of a house, even when it has issues. Others just try to beat each house up and make it look bad. But Eric does what is right– pointing out the issues and keeping it real.

Eric is a great inspector. He’s done a terrfic job in not only inspecting a home for all the necessary details, but explaining this to me in great detail with answers to all my questions. He is extremely thorough, timely, and very cost effective. I highly recommend this business to others.
