I had never been to this location Gap until yesterday, but I LOVE this Gap! It sounds so ridiculous, I know, cuz it’s The Gap, but the ladies that work here are soooo friendly and hilarious. I walked in just to browse and upon entering, one of the employees gave me the friendliest ‘hi!’ ever and then proceeded to tell me that if I was a Gap card holder(which i am), then everything in the store was 50% off, even sale stuff(AWESOME!). So as I’m browsing, I noticed one of the mannequins wearing a bag that wasn’t out on the floor(hence the four stars and not five), so I asked one of the other employees to help me, and she went back to see if there were more. There weren’t, so she just took bag off the mannequin so I could see it. I wasn’t TOTALLY pleased with the bag, so I asked to see something else, and she went and came back out with, seriously, five different bags. Before she went back, though, I told her what I was looking for and what I wanted it to look like, so she thought about it and said, I’m going to go pull things I think you might like. Hello, customer service! I still wasn’t sure about the bags, so another employee came by and said she found a great bag I might like at Banana Republic. She said that since I wasn’t 100%, she didn’t want me to get anything yet at The Gap, and if I wanted to walk down there to see(three doors down), she would give me a coupon, which she did(NEVER in my life have i had an employee not pressure me to buy something and then give me a coupon for another store, even though that store is a partner store). Well, there was nothing at Banana, so I came back and decided on one of the bags, and lo and behold, my total came out to $ 2. 56(it pays to be a gap card holder). In the end, five different employees interacted with me on this trip to The Gap: the one who greeted me, the one who got all those bags, the one who came up to me and the employee helping me with the bags to tell me about Banana, one who raved about how cute one of the bags was, and the one who congratulated me at check-out for the best deal of the day. I love The Gap, and even though I live in Tempe, I might make the drive out to Ray Road to shop at this location because 1. it’s crazy friendly, 2. it’s less picked over than the one at Tempe Marketplace, and 3. it’s in a great location. The strip mall it’s located in is so so cute with a lot of boutique-ish stores(Francesca’s being one of my personal faves), and Ray Road has almost every big store that TMP does with more products to sell because there are less college kids to go through it all.

You can always count on The Gap for wardrobe staples and jeans. This location is great because you don’t have to head to Chandler Fashion Square, and it’s also in an area with a Banana Republic and Ann Taylor among others. I walked in specifically to grab a few pairs of jeans for my husband. I enter and begin sorting through the neat piles of jeans, for several minutes, with no «hello» or offer of help. It took my walking all the way through the store with 3 pairs of men’s jeans(hello! those things are heavy!) before I was even noticed. Oh well, too late, I’m ready to go. Everyone knows what to expect with The Gap, but unless I’m back for my husband I won’t make a special trip here.
