Be aware, these people lie. They encourage you to break the law without caring that you can be fined or that someone could die from something they did (namely, removing a pool fence). They don’t listen to what you want, but tell you that you don’t want it and imply that anyone sane would NOT want it, and they charge more than twice as much as any other landscaping company. When we met with Kent at a home and garden show he said they would come out and give us a FREE design and estimate. When he came out he demanded a $ 250 check before he would do anything, but that it would be rolled into the cost of the landscaping job. I explained that there was one tree on the property we wanted to keep, that we wanted only desert plants that required very little water and upkeep and that I wanted a raised bed garden. He acknowledged what I had said, made some notes and then left. When he came back he brought some line drawings that showed the tree removed, no garden, plants that require watering and upkeep, and the existing pool fence removed. I told him that removing a pool fence in Phoenix was a violation of city ordinances, and his response was ‘who’ll know you ever had one?’ Phoenix has a law against removing pool fences and mandating fences be installed whenever a pool is installed or upgraded and this guy is asking ‘who will know??’ If a child drowns, a LOT of people would know, and we would be responsible! I explained we would NOT be taking out the fence and he shrugged and said ‘whatever. It would look better without it.’ When I asked about the tree and the garden he responded arrogantly ‘you don’t want that tree, they are messy; and if you really want a garden; here (and he quickly drew a rectangle on the ‘plan’)’. His price quote was over $ 30,000 and the average of the other 3 landscaping companies we had give us quotes was about $ 15,000. I called and said the plan was 100% not what I wanted, that it was a violation of the law and that I wanted my money back. They said they would cut a check that week. It has been nearly 2 months — apparently this is yet another lie they tell.

Horticultural Frontiers transformed my backyard from dreary to resort. It was an incredible transformation to which I am very pleased. Kent, the owner, has incredible vision. They finished the project ahead of schedule for me at an incredible price. I cant wait to use them again.
