Joseph Olish, OD

I have been going to Dr. Olish (and great staff) for about five years now. On this last visit, I had moved so I thought I would try Dr. Bonnin’s office at the Paradise Valley Costco. Turns out, not the greatest idea (see my separate review on Bonnin). I ended up going back to get a second exam from Dr. Olish. So glad I did! The prescription was different, but most importantly, the experience was like night and day in comparison.
Dr. Olish does not jam patients into the schedule or accept walk-​ins as he wants to keep it to about max three patients per hour. This gives each person the time and attention they deserve. It is a quiet and stress free environment.
He is almost «all business,» meaning that while very friendly and polite, you know that your eyes are his greatest concern. He’s not one for idle chit-​chat. To me, he strikes me more like an ophthalmologist than an optometrist. You know that he is paying attention to every detail of your visit, your eyes, and your eye health. If you have questions, he will answer them thoroughly.
The staff is always very professional and courteous. His son, Zach, who is studying to be an RN, is funny and yet super efficient.
I had to eat the cost of the Bonnin «exam» because they said they don’t take VSP, but Dr. Olish does take VSP, so I got a break on the exam price. Nice!
I will never stray again. Ever. Live and learn, I suppose. Sometimes we need to look around at what else is out there to appreciate what we already have. :)
I only hope that Dr. Olish sticks around my area for a good long time. He is easily the best optometrist I’ve ever had, here in AZ or in CA.

Dr. Olish is very pleasant and explains your needs well. This is our 3^rd visit with him. Great staff as well Zach is nice and friendly. Conveniently located in Costco.

I came here for a routine eye exam. I was in an out very quickly, however the Doctor was very thorough. He made sure and explained anything I was unsure about, and was very nice through the whole exam. I will definitely be coming back to Dr. Olish if I have any eyecare needs.
