This was my husband and my first time at Kobalt and we were just in town looking for karaōke. Well Friday night, this is the place to be. They use KaraFun only songs for karaōke so that’s a small minus but it doesn’t detract from the 5 stars we are giving it here. Kat, their bartender, is incredible, and man can she pour– and sing too! Their drink prices are reasonable, with a late happy hour, might’ve been cos it was New Year’s Day though, not sure. But either way, of we find ourselves in Phoenix again we are certainly coming back. This bar has character and is classy too. Also they have a decently good craft beer selection, including Not Your Father’s Rootbeer at the time. We are certainly fans. Kudos to you, Kobalt, great job all night long keeping us entertained!

A group of friends decided to drive over here for karaōke last night after a different venue fell through, and I’m actually glad we had issues! This place is fantastic. The host was very funny and charming, and the bartender was super nice, as well. The place is a decent size, though it is a bit hidden if you don’t know where to look. The song selection is large and the host would even pull up songs on Youtube that weren’t in the books, if you asked. I definitely plan on coming back.

Came here to watch RPDR and loved it! Before I went to a few other bars to watch the show and the majority of people were rude and the bartender some days was cool and others kinda meh. However, a friend of mine said Kolbalt was the place to go and boy was she right! After coming to Kolbalt I knew this was the spot to enjoy RPDR! Atmosphere was better and LOVE the bartenders! Oh and they gave out free Dominos pizza and also let you bring in outside food! In case you are wondering what RPDR stands for it is RuPaul’s Drag Race! I recommend to come here on a Monday night when the season starts up! #teamviolet

Kobalt, I don’t need to say much. They know. From RuPaul Mondays to karaōke Tuesdays and Saturdays, this place is on point. I’ve never had one complaint, the bartenders are freakin amazing. Please don’t come here if you’re an a-hole, this is a berry friendly environment.

Power Hour changed from $ 1 drinks to buy one get one… When did that happen? Guess I stopped going there for about 2 months and things changed… Arturo and Travis were my favorite bartenders and now I seem to keep missing them… are they even still there? Happy hour is usually slammed and after you can hear crickets! I left and came back and it was night and day… So weird. Gone in during a show tunes night during a bar crawl and yeahhhh… Maybe a dozen ppl, maybe. Had a drink and left. Not a fan of show tunes but it was great for a laugh! Cheepest Jack & Coke between Bar 1 and Stacey’s… Oh and Thank You for the popcorn! Love!

This is a great place it’s a lot of fun for some reason I just can’t get used to the design of the building I always end up going outside on the patio weather seems to be more space than inside. on the inside it’s a little awkward walking around the bar usually it’s so crowded that it’s uncomfortable. other than that this is a great place to check out I highly recommend it other then the space.

This place is great if you have friends who want to go or if you’re ready to drunk Friday night. The bartendress Gina(sp?) makes great Poach Long Islands. 3 of those and you’ll be happier than the hour! ;) Only downside: it’s a bit small and loud for my usual Friday night drink.

Horrible! Read on the internet that this was a great place. Sadly it is dead and boring. Not where I would recommend on a Saturday night. Bartenders seem like they could care less about their patrons.

Waited 2 hours to sing. Never got called! Could it be the Latino names? Yet Tyler and Miles got called like 2 – 3 times. Just saying… :(

Great bar! So much fun. There are a lot of fun people to meet there. It can get crowded but it’s a nice place to go every now and then.

After posting my billing experience at Kobalt. One dAy later my bank indicated a revised debit occurred. I need to make the Public aware this occurred.

Although this place can be crowded, the bartenders are always very quick and good. Everyone makes you feel at home here and I’ve never encountered any bad attitude. It’s in a weird place — behind a strip mall, but it’s right in the heart of things and so easy to get to. When I go there, I invariably see someone I know. It’s a great combo between a neighborhood bar and a place to go in the evening before or after dinner. Happy hour is always hopping, especially on Fridays.

So this place is designed for people who are ready to just chill. Stay within the lines and not get rowdy. I like to have a good time. Not get out of line and disrespect anyone. Having fun with friends and being the only black male in the bar proved to be to my detriment. Not only did the bartender ignore me and turn his back to me as I tried to speak to him. He also told me not to talk to him. I’m sorry, you are a bartender, people need to give you a order. This guy got upset once I told him I will not tolerate disrespect and told me to stop shitting on his bar. I’m sorry y’all I’m not the one. I’m not a piece of shit. I am highly educated and by no means a ignorant fool. This is not the type of establishment I would return to. I would not recommend it to anyone of color. If I could give it negative stars I would.

There is no place like Kobalt. Since the day it opened, I’ve always felt at home here. From the staff to just the all around feel of this place is what makes it. Don’t let it’s location in Park Central Mall fool you. I know it seems like a strange place to have a bar, but it just seems to work. Plus you never have to worry about parking. The staff here are what make this place special. Friendly, engaging and they make a great drink. That’s for the great times!

I had a great time there. Walking into the smell of popcorn is orgasmic. That… was… amazing. We went last night and I guess the«Brides of March» bar crawl had started there earlier. The bartender was attentive and knew his stock like the back of his hand. He gave service with a smile which is unprecedented in the Phoenix bar scene. We went with a same sex couple but it was obvious there were some glares towards us «breeders». No problem, I am not into screwing up safe places for others to drink. We stayed for a beer and then went on our way. I would have no problem going back, but don’t want to mess up the ratio, if you know what I mean.

I have wondered into the Kobalt bar a handful over times, usually around 1a.m. after work or with some friends after they get off work. The atmosphere is pretty cool, nothing too exciting, the patio furniture could use a face lift, their drink prices are very attractive, and the bathrooms are clean. Every time we stop by the place looks closed. The patio twinkle lights are either burned out or turned off, if you just drove by you would think they were closed, until you hear the laughs and cackles coming from the bar. It is nice to see another bar like the one I work at that is tucked in the back and you wouldn’t know it was there unless you knew it was there. Also, it is nice it being a mostly guy bar, that a straight couple can wonder in and not feel uncomfortable. Kobalt is 50⁄50 for me, 50% good and enjoyable and 50% needs some work. We have always had a good time here though. I think I remember doing karaōke here one night, I was a little more than buzzed at the time so its a little fuzzy. Check them out, I am sure you will have fun too.

Since this place is hit or miss, I encourage you to go on a Friday night even as early as 6pm. A group of decent looking guys of all types and ages gather here to start off their weekend. Try and get Drewbie as your bartender, he’s cute and friendly.

I’m not really into the bar scene, but my friend Sage was in town so we went there last night. They have good drink specials and free pop corn. I was also able to surf the net because they have free wi-fi. The staff was nice and the crowd was was laid back. Great bar for hanging out. We met his friend Billy here and he bought us drinks. Wasn’t that nice?

Perhaps the best part of accepting my promotion at work 2 weeks ago was it brought me that much closer to Kobalt and their wicked martinis. If I wasn’t expected to focus on auditing CIP for new accounts, this would be my lunch destination every day. But, alas, I must be responsible and keep a clear mind so the other bankers will hate me for being a bitch about silly bank policies and regulations instead of thinking I’m just a sloppy drunk, so I refrain from visiting Kobalt during business hours. After those hours expire, however, I’m fair game. Kobalt is a great location for the after-work wind down that makes us all pleasant people once we walk through the front door at home, and I’m not ashamed to admit that it’s a result of Kobalt that I’ve been excessively receptive at home when I would otherwise be skulking from a tedious day in the office. So far, I’ve not been disappointed in the drinks. The fact I can seriously walk there from my office is just icing on the cake. If I thought G&D was going to tilt the scales in favor of being a lush, it has nothing on the grasp of Kobalt. I give myself willingly to your libations.
