When my friends found out I wanted to go to a shooting range for my bachelorette party, they were shocked and confused. By the end of the day though, we all wanted to go out and buy guns and come to Lock Raven Skeet & Trap Club next weekend. Luke and Vince could not have been nicer. None of us had ever held a gun before, let alone tried to shoot a moving target. Luke spent three hours with us, teaching us out to properly hold and shoot the gun. Some of us even got the targets! Overall, it was an awesome day at the range and I will definitely be back to show my(future) husband how awesome I am at shooting guns. Which shouldn’t scare him at all…

Hubby and I decided that we needed a «something different» afternoon out so we tried this place. I have shot handguns before but this was my first experience with a shotgun. Hubby has been shooting everything since he was a wee lad. While our experience levels were very different, this place was really fun for both of us. They have a variety of options: 8 skeet fields, wobble trap, 5-stand trap, and a few other odds and ends. You can bring your own guns or get rentals at a very reasonable price(we’ll get back to that). You can get a membership or just go as a guest. You can wander around and find an empty lane or you can get the guided tour and some great training from their excellent staff. Even hubby who had shot many times before learned a few new tricks from our most wonderful guide Dana. Everyone who works there, as well as the other members, were all welcoming and nice and informative. Truly a good time. So, back to the price. We went with just ourselves and a «go get ‘em» attitude. Gun rental, eye protection, lane fees, shells, everything… for 4 hours of great entertainment we spent a grand total of $ 28. Will definitely go back! PS: For those of you with children, there is no age restriction. Our friends joined us with their 13 year old daughter and even she had a great time. The only concern of the club is gun safety. If your child, and by extension you, are safe then you are welcome to shoot. Everyone else on the field was very responsible too. We had zero safety concerns.

Took my father out here for Father’s Day and it was a great time. My brother had some experience, I’ve never used le guns, and my old man hasn’t shot anything since his tank commanding stint in the Soviet army: D Nonetheless, Sisqo(I’m fairly sure that’s not how you spell his name, but pop culture tells me otherwise) was awesome and more than accommodating in educating. The old man ended up hitting some 80% of the traps(not bad first try I’m told), which made him feel like a bawss. Great success. A+++ Will shoot again!

Great range for trap skeet and 5 stand. Mostly friendly employees and they use the honor system to charge. Most people that go there have been there before but newbies are welcome. They have one trap one wobble trap something like 6 or 7 skeet fields with nice bird towers and one 5 stand operated by scorekeeper. They also have memberships and tournaments.

Nice skeet, trap, and 5-stand range in northern Baltimore County. LR Skeet & Trap is open to the public, though they are a club and you can purchase a membership. Prices are reasonable, and they operate on the honor system for the most part. They’ll assign you a station, and you tell ‘em how many rounds you shot when you’re done. Don’t take advantage, though, ’cause they can always check the trap count to verify. Range safety is good, and the folks are friendly. They do have a limited number of rental shotguns if you don’t bring one of your own. The facility is well maintained, and there are snacks available for purchase in the clubhouse. Ammo is sold on site, but other merchandise is limited.
