If you are a Vintage /Antique lover go try this place out! Nothing fancy but treasures were to be found. Prices are reasonable and the staff was very friendly.

There is a sink in the kitchen section with the vintage plates and such. My eight year old turned it on. I promptly told him not to touch anything and gave him the what for. The shop attendant decided it wasn’t good enough and lectured him to no end. I asked him to apologize to her but she started blaming him for pulling a tag off a chair, told him she was going to come to his room and ruin his things, told him he should have to pay for the plate he ran water over out of his own money. She went on and on, scolding him. My husband and I felt so small. We left after that, it ruined our fun. I wish I would have told her that was enough instead of letting her get her frustrations out on the kid. I wanted to make sure my son learned his lesson but she was out of line. We are a nice family with kids that sometimes act like kids. Moral of the story, don’t turn on the faucet in the middle of the store and know that the sales people in the shop are better parents than you are.

–Merchandise was nicely displayed througout the store by themes(baby, Asian, kitchen, etc). –Clean restroom –Convenient parking –I was ignored and never acknowledged when I entered and when I left. I even tried to make small talk and the gal looked at me like I was a freak! Nice, real nice! –Prices were not cheap, in fact I thought they were a bit pricey. –This store is located inside an older office building strip mall down one of the side streets(still within the Melrose area), just west of 7th Ave. –I thought the office building location made it feel more enclosed like little offices rather than an antique store feel.

Magpie’s Nest is in the antique/vintage sweet spot – not too junky but not too pricey. Magpie’s just opened, and it’s already found its groove. Located in an old office building off of 7th Ave on Campbell, the space could have been weird(it doesn’t look particularly inviting from the street), but the owners have done a terrific job of making it inviting. They have loosely«organized» the space by type of item(kitchen, outdoors, etc.). The selection of items is nicely edited, with real vintage and antiques but without crap that looks like it came from someone’s junk drawer. Lots of great jewelry, linens, photos, furniture, and the prices on everything were just right. I spent an enjoyable hour here looking and buying, and I will definitely be back!

A vintage store with guess what… REALVINTAGE. I mean things from the 60’s and older. Love vintage shopping but lately I have had a hard time being impressed. Most stores are Junk stores and I get that. Sometimes I like to go Junking too but this vintage store was a charmer and has class. Tucked off of 7th ave you might miss it. Clean and well put together. Way to go Magpie. I will be back
