In accord with my practice of giving a medical institution three stars only if I’ve never been a patient, this location get three stars. We’ve reached a point in history where Muhammad Ali is a Wha? for many Unilocal*ers. Mostly what remains in popular memory is a movie about part of his life. This singular African-American man triumphed nearly every time against nearly every odd. His worst enemy has been Parkinson’s Disease. His singular life as a human being has allowed him to establish The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. The annual Celebrity Fight Night in Scottsdale raises funds to support this facility and many other causes célèbre. His remaining personal scope is global. Learn about this man. He is a great example of persistence and triumph in life. The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center has two components. The Parkinson Center and the Movement Center. God forbid you should find yourself having to visit this place for a Parkinson’s Disease related treatment. Thank God this place is here if you have Parkinson’s. A young, successful friend of mine has a rare form of the disease. His treatment in a major southwest city exhausted all local knowledge and treatments in that location. He is losing control of his hands. He does amazing things with them. He’s not happy. An MD friend helped him get to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. He arrived with a folder of paperwork and two disks describing his previous treatment. The doctor examined him, learned his history and began a regimen that’s different from all those prescribed previously. It’s up to him to apply himself to the best healing advice he can get at this time. We shall see the results. We visited an acquaintance of his family later that evening. Charlie told him the Ali Center was the best in the world.
