I like this place. Each of the staff members have been very friendly and pleasant! A bit pricey though. My early experiences at tanning salons were places that included cold washcloths, decent products to use to freshen up after(wipes, spray deodorant, lotion, hairspray), and also had things like small water bottles or juice, candy, hair ties… Little things like that which truly make a nice experience. «My Resort» is a big name for just tanning beds. This isn’t meant to be a negative review by any means, but I think they could do better given the prices, the area, and the other services they offer. Make this place truly enjoyable! It’s definitely got potential and I would love to see this place take it up a notch!(Ahwatukee location)

I happened to come upon My Resort while looking for a tanning salon that was close to my gym. My Resort was within a mile so I called to ask about the salon, their services and prices. I spoke with a gal by the name of Tina, who I later found out was the manager of the salon. She gave me some prices over the phone and explained all the other benefits the salon provided. She invited me to come into the salon for a visit. Tina was very nice to talk to on the phone so I definitely wanted to come in and meet her and see what the salon had to offer. A few days later I went into the salon and Tina was actually waiting for my arrival and remembered our conversation on the phone. She showed me around and explained all the benefits of each of the services available to me as a client. She gave me several options and how just adding a few more dollars would allow me to have unlimited use of the services. I was so impressed that I signed up for the VIP package. I did have to commit to 3 months and then month to month thereafter, however I would keep the same monthly membership price forever. She even told me that if I needed to skip a month for any reason, I could hold the price for just $ 7 a month. On my first visit, I used the red light therapy bed and a lower level tanning to get a base color started. Tina helped me get familiar with all the services and set me up for my next appointment. One thing I really appreciated was there was no high pressure sales of anything. Everything was offered as benefits and not that I needed them. Of course, I did buy some tanning lotion and rose hip oils to aid in the various beds. Overall, I had a great experience for my first visit and I’m looking forward to a long relationship with this salon. My plan is go 4 days a week after the gym and maybe once on the weekend.

This is just like the planet beach chain but is not as nice when it comes to the building and general atmosphere… the girls are always friendly though. it is always packed and hard to schedule certain services which is not too fun when members pay 60+ a month. my complaint is that they charged me a full year after contract was up and I had no idea that I was still a paying member… partly my fault yes but they did not call or notify me in anyway i never came in? they refused to give me a year worth of services and I did not ask for a refund since it was my fault too. still though they made a bundle on my mistake just thought it would have been nice of them to at least consider the fact that I never came in for anything and they made over 700 dollars on me. if you are considering this place try to get a deal on it and make sure they don’t keep charging your card. they could have called me and said hey lady when are you coming to get some use out of this costly spa membership you pay for…

My resort has nice, up to date tanning beds(high intensity) for super cheap compared to big chain tanning salons(Desert Sun, Palm Beach tan, etc) Always clean & super friend staff. They accidentally charged my acct 2x for monthly membership but were super apologetic & helpful about replacing the funds. Accidents happen, and it’s all about the recovery! Happy to have a nice salon close to home :)

My experience with My Resort was pleasant enough at first but when I had a family emergency and I had to cancel my membership to move out of state I gave notice to the spa. I notified them within the allotted time frame(5 weeks) before I moved and I let them know I was closing my AZ bank account. I needed to know if I had to pay the buy out or if they would just close the account. It took them all 5 weeks to tell me they were not going to require me to do the buy out(which was kind of them) but then the day I went to close my bank account and leave the state, the bank told me there was a pending transaction from My Resort. They had forgotten to remove me from their billing and I was charged. I called, spoke to someone who told me that she would text or e mail the manager, but at this point it was too late. I had to wait for the refund to get processed before I could close the account so I was a week behind schedule. Ended up staying with friends for a week because I had already given up my place. No one at My Resort really seemed to care. The manager and owner were both completely unavailable and made zero contact with me. The spa itself is OK, probably a little high priced, but convenience is a big deal to me, and this was VERY inconvenient. When I come back, I will go elsewhere for my tanning and spa needs.

I felt compelled to write a review on My Resort after researching this place trying to decide if I wanted to try it. I couldn’t find any real information to understand what it was really about, even their website only offers limited information. You will either dig this place or you won’t. I went with a friend and we had the exact same treatments, the same day, but had very different experiences. I really enjoyed it but she didn’t care for the«automation» of it all. Your experience here, like most things, will probably depend on what you are expecting. They have very friendly staff. Tina has been there each time I went and she is so personable and helpful, very sweet. It is located in a strip mall that looks a bit run down. I never would have thought to visit this place if I was just doing a drive by and choosing based on curb appeal. Once you are inside it has cute décor. There are private rooms for each of the«automated» services. — Hydromassage. You lay fully clothed on a bed with a screen where you control the pressure, zones and speed of the water jets. I really played with it a lot and found a perfect combination for blissful relaxation. IF you like those types of things. My friend was not a fan, she prefers regular hands on massages, she thought it was odd. It was about 15 minutes long. — Lumiere Facial– they give you facial products(which you have to purchase). You wash your face in the bathroom and then apply a serum. Then they set you up in a comfy massage chair, put goggles on you and put a big«screen» of lights in front of your face. My friend said the the bright lights were painful to her eyes and quit the session after a minute(she wears contacts so maybe that made her sensitive?). It reminded me of sitting in the sun without sunglasses in the summer. My face got very warm and all in all it was very relaxing. I saw a few stars afterwards like when you have a flash picture taken. I did the Repairing facial; I noticed right away that my face seemed«rosier»(this is not a tanning session) and my skin texture overall seems improved. I am a fan and I have been back for 2 more sessions. Lasts 20 minutes. — Hydrating steam pod — this was interesting. You strip down and hop into a pod that heats up to 118* i think they fill the steamer up with some hydrating concoction. Your head sticks out and you can supposedly control the heat on the control screen although neither me or my friend could get it to go down when we felt too hot. I love super hot baths/showers so i enjoyed it. My friend felt claustrophobic. it was about 20 minutes. I would not pay the per use charge to use this again. Just seems high for what it is. They also have a tanning bed(I never tan because tanning ruins your skin and prematurely ages you!!) and a sunless spray tan machine that I will try one day. The monthly package is a reasonable enough cost for me to give it a shot. I’m trying for 6 months. What makes it a deal is you can go in as much as you like and get whatever services you want(based on availability). You have to pay like $ 5 extra when you spray tan. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are like me and into these types of treatments!
