I was so happy that a nail salon opened in the Willow historic neighborhood. It’s a small salon, but absolutely wonderful! There are only two or three full time people working, but always very kind, and extremely attentive. Lisa is the owner. She’s great! She takes the time to make sure my gel French manicure is perfect and well done. She does not rush it and my manicures last several weeks. This is what kept me coming back. Ana is also a very experienced and does a perfect French manicure! Lisa, Ana and Tina are awesome! Tina is a great pedi gal, for sure! My daughter and I both agree that it is the best! I always call for an appointment because they fill up fast and I’ve witnessed them have to turn people away because they are so booked. I’ve never had a hard time getting an appointment or getting my needs met. I’d much rather come here, than some salon with 10 techs who rush you in and out with sub quality results. It’s worth the wait, coming back, or scheduling an appointment to have you nails done at My Shiny Nail than anywhere else!

I’ve been coming here consistently for the last few months and have never had a bad experience. Their use of a more expensive brand of top and bottom coating makes the gel just slide off during a polish change. Everyone is so nice and my only complaint is that they are closed on Sundays. My gel nails stay on easily for 2 – 3 weeks with no chipping or lifting. I highly recommend My Shiny Nails!

Love this place! They do a great job but since It’s Only 3 of them sometimes the wait is long so make sure to make an apt.

I had such a good experience here a couple months ago with the owner so I keep coming back but it’s not been good. The last two times I have come the girl who has worked on me speaks no English. I am not some jerk that cares what language people speak but the problem is she hurts me and other than Unilocaling I can’t get her attention. She left dirt and debris in the sides of my toes. I kept pointing to them(they were red and painful, most nail techs would have noticed, especially when I Unilocaled every time she touched my toes) and she wld just smile at me. It hurt and I raced home to fix my toes myself. This was the first time she also did my fingers. First of all because of the language barrier I did not get what I wanted. I had a picture but she kind of ignored me. The owner was supposed to do my fingers but took another client which kind of sucks because I actually made an appointment. Color of nails aside she cut mine too short and now they are puffy and painful which kind of sucks when you have a desk/computer job. She cut skin that needed to stay attached. I’m really disappointed as I don’t treat myself that often.

Very disappointed in the service at this salon. There were two women working, one apparently was more experienced and training the other. Unfortunately I ended up with the trainee. She cut the entire side off of one toenail — literally digging down into my skin to cut off the ENTIRESIDE. Fifteen hours later it is still tender & hurts. Then she continued to dig under another toe nail with a cleaning pick until I jerked my foot back in pain & said«That hurts!!!» I really should have gotten up and left right then. [I’m still mad at myself for not doing so– something weird happens in these situations & I get paralyzed — caught between self-preservation & appearing rude. And not wanting to spear rude usually wins. How weird is that?!?] The more experienced woman setup my manicure so I had hoped that would go better. But after she shaped my nails she said something about running behind & turned the gel polishing over to the trainee. Bad idea. I was getting a French mani & apparently they thought this was a good learning opportunity? She supervised the first hand– having her correct each nail. But then her client came in so she left to attend to her.(And I heard her tell her client ‘You’re late! I’m adding $ 5!’) So I have one very sore toe & one hand with a wonky French mani. I will NEVER go here again– and I would tell everyone I know to avoid it too.

Ask for Tina, she gives the best massage! You won’t be disappointed. Much better than the piddly type of massage you get at most places.
