Nick’s Picks Thrift Store

It had been a long road moving from Pennsylvania to Phoenix. Nick and his brother in law did an awesome job unloading my u boxes. Before they both left, I felt like home. I highly recommend their family style service.

We hired Nick’s to help us with a local load/​unload of a 2 BR apartment. They arrived 5 minutes early and got to work straight away. They did an excellent job packing the truck and making sure everything was protected. Nick was very friendly and professional.
At the unload location, Nick even backed up the truck into the driveway for me and put together a desk. They made a stressful day much less stressful. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs help with a move!

I am not sure how to rate this. A year ago I used his company for a one way move cross country. The two man crew did a great job and worked hard all day. My furniture arrived unharmed. I moved back to AZ moving my own things and this time it was a load from a storage unit. I specifically asked for a few things to be arranged on the truck a certain way, but this time Nick the owner was there. He is so full of himself he has no listening skills and is going to do things the way he wants only. I had to add some stuff from another location and his unwillingness to listen to the customer who has moved himself 20 times cross country successfully proved to cause an issue. They also took 2 water breaks in 90 minutes. I wrote the times down and it equates to 20– 25 minutes and when you are paying $ 100 an hour for a 4 man crew that hurts. Their office also failed to tell me I had to provide 2 furniture dollies to move my piano which had an extra $ 125 fee attached. I have paid to move this instrument many times — even just onto the truck for my uhauling and they always brought the dollies and equipment needed. It took 30 minutes to get the stuff and again he 4 man crew sat around while I purchased them inquiring right away so it would not waste time. The owner was on his phone constantly and his wife never responded when I had issues that day. If he spent less time bragging about how great he was and more time getting the job done it would have cost me $ 100 less bucks. I also had a couple of broken items, they pointed them out like they were already broken, but it happened when they were moving things as those items were not broken when they were stored. I also had a bag of bolts taped to a bed frame that were not attached when they arrived. The worse part was how stressed I felt because he owner was so unreasonable and unwilling to listen. If I was not under time pressure I would have fired hem and gotten someone else in.
UPDATE: Owner called me after reading my review and yelled at me, would not let me get a word in, was belligerent and degraded me personally. He proved my point in the above review. I would have settled for an «I’m sorry» — I was not looking for anything else!

Nick’s PIcks was incredible. I hired them to move my entire household goods from Phoenix to Dallas, TX. When they arrived at my house, we determined that the moving option I had originally selected would not work for all of my stuff. Nick went into action and secured me a 26ft truck and offered to drive it himself to Dallas. Nick and his crew worked late into the night and carefully packed the entire truck. All of my wood furniture was expertly wrapped in blankets and plastic wrap to keep it safe. Once in Dallas, Nick was able to work out a deal so that my goods could remain wrapped while in storage for the next month. Thank You Nick!

I am extremely disappointed with my most recent experience. We hired Nick’s Picks Thrift Store to help us move a few years ago and they were awesome. However, during our most recent move, we hired them to help load our uhaul to move out of state and our experience was much different. The crew was supposed to arrive promptly at 7:30 am, only to get a text message from the owner at 7:25 stating the the crew was «running 45 minutes late because of traffic». After expressing our disappointment & frustration, the owner admitted that they «couldn’t get a hold of the crew that was scheduled, and we may not have anyone». After about an hour, she finds a crew that shows up two hours after our scheduled time. We expressed our frustrations once again and asked that they make it right by compensating in some way for the major inconvenience and complete lack of customer care. She stated «I cannot give you any type of discount because I need to be able to pay the crew». My husband I were appalled at the complete lack of customer service we received. The crew showed up letting us know that this was supposed to be their day off after working 8 days straight. The two guys worked hours in the heat and were great. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism this company showed to us. Not a phone call (only reached out via text message) without even giving us an «I’m sorry». Just not people we want to do business with again.

They were so great!!! I was so scared to move to a second-​floor apartment with all my heavy furniture (specifically this massive sofa I got from my aunt) but then I heard about Nick’s Picks and they literally saved the day. I don’t know what I would have done without them. I had the pleasure of working with David and Chris who were efficient, friendly, funny, and quick. They helped me not only move, but helped pick up and fold up the blankets from Uhaul so I wouldn’t get charged extra by them. Because my house was far away from the apartment, the apartment was hard to get to, and I have so much stuff they did go past the 2hrs I initially paid for, but the whole time they kept it friendly and light and fun and I would say they were worth every penny. Thank you, David and Chris! You guys rock!

Nick and his crew were really great to work with. I had to make a last minute schedule change, very pleasant and accommodating. Arrived on time had my truck loaded super fast, with plenty of care for my things. Wish I had discovered them for prior moves

Nick’s Picks are the best movers I’ve ever dealt with. Nicholas and Ray delivered and packed 2 U-​Haul U-​Boxes for us and did an excellent job of wrapping everything up safely and loading it quickly. They were very friendly and professional and I will definitely use them again if we ever need help moving something.

) so you don’t have to take my word for it but these guys are the best.
They showed up on time and moved a 17 ft uhaul (including a treadmill) in under an hour! They were super fast and careful with all of my belongings. They made sure each item went where it was supposed to go. They are super friendly and VERY reasonably priced, they really helped relieve some of the stress of moving. Don’t look any further for your next move.
