Be sure to ask about all pricing! Room and board, medicine and care over and over. My Dad wAs in a rehab center and was declining rapidly. Because a PA said she was going to discharge my Dad we called hospice, one the care center contracted with. We talked at length about cost and care, never did they say room and board was not covered. No one from the rehab Mi Casa let us know about any costs. The hospice people didn’t communicate with the rehab over the weekend. Hospice never visited my Dad and he passed away. Now my Mother is left with a bill. Very stressful and we asked about cost many times. The director of Optum told me they don’t talk about room and board costs. How would a patient’s family know that??? The rehab center took care of my Dad and billed us. Hospice did nothing and would not correct or take responsibility for how they billed Medicare yet got paid for doing NOTHING and the 88 year old widow pays for what Optum Hospice should have been billed. BEWARE!
