Paradise Valley School of Karate

Not sure why my ¹²⁄₂₀₁₃ review was removed. I have had no experience with the after-​school or summer program but PVSK is a great school to study karate. My kids and I went there for years, had fun and enjoyed a lot of success. Sensei Wall and his staff are all very knowledgeable. The facilities are good and the atmosphere is friendly. If MMA is what you want this may not be the school for you. Sensei Wall teaches traditional karate and all the values that come from learning a martial art. We really had a great experience here.

My son has attended Sensai Wall’s karate school off and on for many years. I have found Sensai to be a strong, consistent, kind, and hard-​working role-​model for his students.
His student’s respect and love him, including my son, and, as a parent, he has always been very easy to talk to, and deal with.
His main priority is to keep the kids safe, teach them how to be respectful, disciplined, and encourage them to work hard to become excellent karate students.
He doesn’t hand out belts like candy either. He expects his students to earn their belts by working hard and never giving up. A fantastic dojo, with excellent instructors!

Our son had a fantastic experience. Mike is great with children and has a lot of passion for this art.

I find it funny that customers are being told that the bad reviews are from other karate places. I can assure you that I’m not one of them. Im also getting emails from the owners asking me to change my bad rating. I was a concerned parent leaving feedback on my families experience with the summer camp. My concerns were the exact same as someone a month before me and no action was taken to correct it. The owners were trying to tell me that the urine smell was from wet towels… I’m a mother of 2 boys, I know what urine smells like! They also tried to say that there were always adults in the back with the kids… The 5 days I picked them up, there was not one adult towards the back door. I will not change my rating an give a false review of this place. People deserve to know about my experience of this place.

This review is purely about their summer program. I was looking for a place to send my daughter, and she had told me that she wanted to do karate. I figured a week program was a good way to try it out and see if we wanted to keep going without a huge commitment.
This was the most unorganized program I have EVER seen. When I dropped my daughter off there were children running a muck with one adult in the room sitting in an enclosed office not even watching them. He barely looked up at me when I walked in, didn’t even say good morning. I asked where to sign in and was almost rudely pointed in the direction of the sign in book. I was told to park in the back, so when I picked her up again no adult in sight, and I basically walked in the back entrance got my kid and left without anyone speaking to me. Just leaves me a little uneasy that ANYONE could do this.
We paid a $ 50 «registration» fee which was suppose to include a uniform. When I asked my daughter she said she never received one.
The camp did spark an interest in karate for my daughter, so we will be signing her up for classes, but at a different studio.
So if you like the idea of unsupervised children, and an open back door policy then this is the summer camp for you, if not than STEER CLEAR!

Be careful of auto pay. I had no idea they would charge my account if I wasn’t going past my signed agreement. It automatically keeps charging until you give 30 day notice.
I don’t know how your old response that was very rude got removed, but it did. I can appreciate you trying to rectify that mistake years ago, but the original issue was never resolved.

I stopped by the studio and saw some great facilities. I even sat down and spoke with Mike for a while. These are good people! I would highly reccomend this studio for karate lessons. If you are considering stopping by, then just tell them Aric From Phoenix Music Lessons sent ya!
