Pecos Storage

Within one month of storing my car at Pecos Storage, someone stole my car cover and some parts off of it. They have cameras, but I found out that they are not working, When I asked in the office, I was told that there have been other thefts. I filed a police report and the police officer called me back and told me that when he went there to fill out his report, that the sliding «security» gate was left standing open and that he had to go in to the office to find anyone. The owner refused to give me any kind of reimbursement on my rent or compensation for my loss, saying that he had only rented me a parking space. He also keeps no insurance, so it is up to you to file with your insurance in the event of theft or damage. Do not trust the security — there really is none! I immediately moved my car to a secure storage facility.

Be very careful with these people. They are dishonest and deceptive. The owner, Rande Leonard and the manager, Bob Whatever together rented a covered space to me on April 23^rd after waiting months to get a covered space from an uncovered space. Bob called me on April 22 stating he had a 45′ covered space available and that I would have to meet him the next day just after 1 PM to secure it or he’d give it to another on the list. I rented space #50 after the owner drove me over to it to show me. I was to stay in my uncovered space until resurfacing was finished and we returned from being out of town. Today I went to move into the new space and found it was occupied. They decided after I had rented the space that they could get another $ 80 from someone in addition to the standard rent if they let them use the little triangular spot blocked in by our space. So without notice, they changed our spot to a less desirable space double rented our space to another. They bullied me and my wife when we called them on their dishonesty. They said they apologized and that should be all they need to do. Then, the Bob manager hung up on us and the owner called telling us to move out of the storage place all together. We then were emailed a 10 day notice to vacate.
Our attorney said it was not worth a fight, so our only recourse is to let you know not to do business with Pecos.
