Monday morning, dead battery, Oh no. Sweet D was discussing AAA Auto and Travel Service with me for a long time. My ears were deaf. Another household expense. We took the plunge in October. February 16, 2015 I used my AAA card for the first time. Pressing 2 for automotive service, I spoke with a representative who assembled all the pertinents into the database. Before I got off the call, I had a text message stating my battery service would arrive within 40 minutes. Less than 10 minutes after that, I got a call from Tom. He’d be right over. He arrived within 20. . The battery was tested two weeks ago. It was supposed to be failing. Tom arrived, tested the battery. It was dead. It could have been jumped, but the 72 month NAPA batteries we’ve bought for years and I’ve been installing have been failing in about two years. «It’s the weather.» Today we went for AAA. Battery and charging system test, report printed out. Battery replacement, cables cleaned up as necessary, anti-corrosion treatment applied, new battery cleaned up with a name brand cleaning solution and rag. The first battery may have been a little tall for the engine compartment, Tom replaced it with a better fitting one, rocking the new install to be sure it is secure. Battery guaranteed for three years, report printout stapled into a tri-fold brochure explaining all about battery service and the three year warranty. This level of service cost me about $ 35.00 more than me replacing the battery myself. The AAA insurance is an added cost, but I cannot tell you how blissful I feel because Tom did the work. Tom is one of many of us displaced by the worst economic melt down in 70 years, plus disruptive technology. He was cheerful, excellent and attentive. I know people treated the same way by fortune. Some have flushed their lives away in sea of blame, self-pity and substances. Tom was useful and cool. Would I do this all again. Not willingly, but it will happen anyway and I would definitely use AAA Battery Service provided by Phoenix Battery Service.
