Phoenix Sky Harbor Cell Phone Lot

Love this place,
Since I moved the the valley about six years ago. I have become a frequent visitor to this cell lot. There is always enough room, you can actually see the update board from any location in the lot. There are bathrooms, even though it’s an outhouse. It’s better then nothing. They also have the airlines «800» numbers posted for your convenience. Just come in, find a parking spot, recline your seat, turn up the radio and take a nap!

Love this lot but I’ve been here for an hour already and I haven’t seen a server. Someone told me the veal is great. Idk.

I always use the cell phone lot when I am picking people up from PHX. There are always parking spots near the flight board and Terminal 4 is super close. It’s free to park and provides a place to chill until your party has landed.

The invention of the cell phone lot was brilliant!
The one detractor (and why I only gave this lot four stars) is the left turn onto the road to terminal two. The road you have to cross is quite busy and much of the traffic is moving at 30 mph or more. Thus, speed and acceleration is definitely a plus when going to pick up your significant other/​boss/​family/​bff from this lot. If you are going to terminals three or four this is not an issue.

This lot is genius!
When I receive the text «landed,» that means it is time to start the drive down, but depending on traffic and the route I take, my time will vary. More importantly is the time that the landed party will take getting off the plane, walking to baggage claim, and eventually standing at the curb.
This lot is perfect for a quick stop until the text «at curb» arrives. Pull in for just a few minutes or a longer stay, just don’t get out of your car!

More attractive now that they have jacked the short term parking rates way up, no grace period. cell lot if free but no shade, brutal in summer.

I went the longest time not knowing what this place was. Did you go here to grab a quick cell phone before you head out on your flight? Well once I looked at it, made a whole lot of sense. Now there is a go to spot that I wait at until my family arrives. It’s great that it’s right by terminal 4. You can access all the terminals from there. 4 is just a lot closer.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s very basic. During the summers they’re concrete heat collectors and believe me you feel it. Your A/​C will work harder especially since you’re stationary.
How about covered solar parking lots as in schools. It works for the energy needs as well as cars in wait.
Porta potties need to be kept clean, especially in the heat of summer. Ok for those short waits.

I’ve been in and out of many airports over the years and this is one of my favorites for sure. I mean don’t get me wrong, an airport is still in the airport… Busy, highly secured, and packed with our favorite people the TSA agents.
The reason I like Phoenix Sky Harbor is because it’s usually pretty well organized to where it’s not a complete disaster if you don’t get here hours and hours ahead of time.
They have all of the standard stores, shops and restaurants that you would associate with an airport. One of the cool things that I have noticed here at Sky Harbor is the «cell» parking lot — this is where you can go, park for free and wait for someone to arrive. Once they have landed and gathered their baggage, they can call or text to let you know they’re ready to be met by the curb. CIRCLING THE AIRPORT IS NOT NECESSARY!

I’ve always used the west lot with no issues. I really wish there was wifi available, but at least I don’t have to pay to park and wait.

The positive fact that cell phone lot east is 10 times Bigger then the old is good. However there should be multiple sign boards. The closet one is on west of lot. However all cars tend to park there and fight for space 2 more boards woukd be nice also they need a turn right sign larger. All and all happy

Oh my god, talk about a NIGHTMARE! My husband was flying into Sky Harbor to meet me in Phoenix and when I read about a cell phone lot I was initially excited. I left my hotel early to get a spot in the lot. Everything was fine when I arrived and secured a spot. The lot was very crowded and I took one of two parking spots left. The cell phone lot is difficult to get to but is very close to the pick-​up terminal. This is where the issue is – it’s steps away from the pick-​up area but that means there are HUGE bottlenecks of traffic coming both from inside the cell phone lot and on the exterior roads. This means when everybody arrives at the same time, there is a huge backup of cars. Even though I was parked close by, it took me over THIRTY MINUTES to get OUT of the cell phone lot to pick up my husband! I was trapped! You can’t back out of your spot or even MOVE in the traffic. I was in tears. NEVER again. It’s better to circle than to park here. Trust me!

I like the idea of having a place to wait a bit in the airport. I don’t like all of the people with me. Also on the sun it is to damn hot

This is a great place to come to wait, when you are waiting for a flight to come in.
You do not have to drive around the Airport wasting gas and getting in anyones way.
You simply pull in here, wait for your cell phone call and relax.
When your party arrives, they call you and they go to get their luggage.
You leave the lot and go to Passenger pick up.
It works like a charm.
There is one on each side of the Airport as well. So weather you are coming from the East or the West you can use one.
Plus it is free. You do not have to pay as you would have to if you parked.

Good place to wait and sit to have your guest (s) arrive. Free of charge too. The only bad thing is that you might not be able to park during peak holiday seasons.

Gone are the days when you can park and walk into the airport to greet your special someone as the come of the plane. However, at least we now have a place to sit comfortably and wait for them. What a great idea! It makes it so easy to pick someone up at the airport when you have somewhere nearby that you can wait and a big board to keep you informed of their status. The last thing anyone wants is to be sitting out on the curb waiting for someone to come get them after a long day of travel!

Gone are the days of guessing when tie guest are ready to be picked up. 4 stars because they have a light pole right near the front that blocks the board. Also kind of confusing of how to get to each lot.

Love the location and ease with which you can wait for your incoming travelers. My only critique would be that the flight board takes too long to update. Would be nice if it was a bit more timely.

I have been doing a lot of dropping off and picking up at Sky Harbor lately. I’ve been there about 6 times in the last 2 – 3 weeks. And since our local police force always seems to chase me out of the terminal when my party is not there, I end up at the cell phone lot. They have lots of parking available and a big sign to tell you when the flights arrive. In addition, it’s easy ins and outs from the lot to the terminals.
