Pueblo Grande Museum Indian Market

Having long been fascinated (but discriminating) about Southwestern art, I was excited to find this market. I prefer buying directly from the artist without the store as the middleman.
I loved the location — first time on South Mt. — separate review later. It was stark and picturesque. Relatively easy to get to — 30 min drive for me.
Featured guests were the Navajo Code Talkers. I wish I could have talked to them but the place was empty when I went by.
There were about 75 — 100 artists. Stall after stall of jewelry and beads but I was most impressed with the standouts — two in pottery, two in jewelry that had fine silver barrettes, pins, keychains, golf markers and bookmarks. Items I could actually use and not just have for decoration. I also saw a cool tomahawk pipe and one stall for native herbal remedies. The prices were about average — reasonable for the most part. $ 20 — $ 40 each for the above-​mentioned items.
I would go again, but next time make sure to download the admission coupon. I thought charging $ 8 to get in was stiff but rationalized that it would eventually support SOME worthy cause.
I filled my need to get some [gorgeous, useful, functional] things with a southwest motif (at least for now) without emptying my wallet too much, got to meet the artists and I am happy.
