Saw this doctor at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Urgent Care(East Valley). The care that she provided my child was adequate. However, her bedside manner leaves much to be desired. I have a three-year-old boy who I brought to PCH to be treated for severe asthma. My little guy has a special love for Disney princesses and as such, brought mini Belle and Cinderella dolls with him for comfort. I was shocked when Dr. Ravi asked my child why he was playing with princesses and then proceeded to tell him that it was«odd» when he said that he likes princesses. If this had been a typical urgent care, I would not have been surprised, but she is a PEDIATRICIAN– and little boys liking to play with traditionally girly things is not that unusual and even if it was, it’s harmless. Bottom line– telling a sick child(or any child) that they are«odd» is cruel and this interaction totally tainted what was otherwise a good experience at PCH urgent care.
