Went into store and spoke to George the store manager after being prompted by one of the Safeway employees. George listened to my experience and apologized. Also said he had spoken to the employee working that night. Followed up by offering me a refund and a small outback gift card to make up for birthday dinner. Most importantly I felt listened to. Can’t change my rating to 5 star because I wish it hadn’t happened at all, but I felt like they did a good job of trying to make the best of the situation.

This Safeway is ok. Customer service is spotty, I go for the Starbucks and that’s about it

I Wil NEVER go back to this Safeway or any Safeway at that matter. Any time I go to Safeway I get followed, disrespected, and misled. The whole point of customer service is for the customer to be satisfied. My first incident here was being disrespected by three employees, I ended up leaving my groceries and walked out the door because how bad I was disrespected. Although I called the General manager George E. and he made it right which in the end made me come back to this store and shop. Now I still get followed, disrespected, and misled. All in all this LAST trip… I went to the cashier to check out and was refused service. Not surprising since I’ve seen/Been through how these stores act towards customers. Oh and by the way the way the manager Sandy S. is a very rude person… SAFEWAYYOULOST A CUSTOMERANDSOME, I WILLNEVERCOMEBACK. Every time I shop here, I swear I won’t come back, but I always do, because I don’t want to deal with the crowd at Fry’s. The people here are really nice and helpful as well, so I don’t fault them for anything. This place can NOT keep their shelves stocked appropriately. I assume it’s because they’re not moving product fast enough due to the Fry’s across the street, but it’s extremely common for me to not be able to buy something due to it simply sitting on the shelf, expired. I just got back from this store 10 minutes ago, and their pre-packaged tomatoes were expired by 5 days(all of them), and of the yogurts I tried to buy, two kinds were all expired as well. I check everything now, but I’ve purchased tortillas, pickles, and cheese here multiple times without realizing the products were expired, and not just a little bit expired — months. They also have the worst produce. Bananas are terrible here — either totally green or too far brown to last through the week. Sometimes they have good avocados, but sometimes they’ve got 2 full displays with just bad fruit in them. As I said, the people here are great, and the location is clean and orderly, and I keep coming back because it’s quiet and relaxed, unlike the Fry’s across the street, but seriously, if you don’t check every item you put into your cart, you’re going to be buying something expired.

This Safeway is much larger than the Desert Foothills and Chandler Boulevard location, wider variety of produce and other products. Newly renovated. Very clean. Even the bathrooms, hah! I don’t even live in this area anymore, and still find myself shopping here! What the heck?! Probably doesn’t help that it’s near work and the gym. Super convenient for picking up last minute ingredients I need for dinner that night, heck, even just changing out of my sweat drenched clothes from a workout if I have a «Pain and Torture appointment» with my Physical TERRORIST«friend» right down the street… There’s also a Starbucks here for all you coffee freaks. The nicest lady works there. Knows my drink now. Sometimes I don’t even have to tell her unless I’m changing it up. Oh yeah! Friendly employees, convenient, and overall a pleasant shopping experience so obviously I’ll be back.

I love Safeway. Sure it may be a little pricier than the competition but it makes up for it with wide isles, great parking, friendly service and a wonderful selection. Plus, because its a California based store, they have It’s It’s, located in the frozen food section — Oatmeal cookies with a quality vanilla ice-cream in the center all dipped in chocolate — soooo gooood.

A solid Safeway location. Clean store. Recently underwent a slight renovation. Friendly staff(mostly). Good selection of products. The prices aren’t bad… not amazing either, but there are usually some deals to be had. Overall, a convenient and pleasant place to shop for everyday groceries.
