Ahh, Sam’s. You were there before I was born, around when I was a kid, kept me supplied with soda when I visited my dad’s as a teenager, and as an adult, you sell me booze. You’re like that guy who never left the neighborhood, but I can always count on when I go home and need you. Sam’s is, well, it’s the South Phoenix version of corner store. It’s not pretty, doesn’t carry fresh produce, and isn’t as well stocked as a 7 – 11 or Circle K, but it’ll get you most of whatever else you need. Don’t be shocked by the clientele or the glass, it’s actually pretty chill in there. In fact, it’s enough of a neighborhood joint that they always comment that they’ve never seen me(I’m in once every year or so when I visit family) before. They have most things you need in a pinch, and prices aren’t bad at all considering the type of store(and they’re supply of adult beverages is actually well priced). The fact that there’s a Super Walmart half a mile away and this place hasn’t closed should be a testament to something. It is what it is, but for what it is, it ain’t so bad.
