Went to the new location. Picked up a pre– ordered mulberry and decided to get two extra avocado trees. Shamus helped us decide what to get and gave us specific advice on planting. We are still somewhere pretty close to beginners and he was very patient even though it was very busy. Love the new place!

Discovered Shamus O’Leary from a tour of Jake Mace’s Longevity Garden in Tempe, which I learned about through Meetup, which I became a member years ago while conducting my own gardening classes in California and posting them on my own Meetup Group… love social media! Any hoo, Shamus is a wealth of knowledge, and it doesn’t take long to discover his passion for trees is real and so much so he shares his love freely, so be respectful, as with anyone who loves what he does, one can easily monopolize his time. He’s got trees! I learned quickly that, when you go, come prepared to take something home with you. I went last weekend just to browse, and ended up running home to grab my bungee cords, tarp and cash… I couldn’t resist the lure of growing my own fruit! I grabbed three trees. A Kent Mango, Shamus’ favorite, and a Star Fruit, both of which will be a few years before I will be enjoying the fruit with my Granddaughters, but I was assured, O’Leary will be like a God Parent to my new baby trees. I know I will be consulting with him often. I also adopted an elder Barbados Cherry, which should be blooming this year… so excited to get my game on with fruit trees! A big shout out to Anastasia… Thank you so much for your personal attention, helping me pick out my new sweet darlings, your assistance in carefully wrapping them up in my Jeep for their successful journey home, and your encouragement and making this new adventure sound easy!

i wasn’t fast enough to get some small plant arizona avocado trees today… they sell fast. but i did get a papaya tree(which i’ve been wanting for years). again, Shamus is the real deal. all his trees are thriving and some are exploding with fruits. as before, he gave me growing, watering, and planting tips for the papaya. He is also selling his custom soil mix for 5 bucks/40lb bag. It’s worth it because the bag soil at depot/lowes does not accommodate tropicals very well. Again, call first and cash only.

Great advice and ideas working with Phoenix Arizona soils. The owner was helpful, thoughtful and knowledgable. We got wonderful ideas for creating balance and nutrients for our fruit trees and plants. If you are interested in Tropical and Sub Tropical trees and shrubs give them a call.

This place has really interesting plants. If you want something unusual that isnt sold at the big box stores, you should check it out. We just bought a mango tree and so far it is doing well. Shamus spends a lot of time telling you what to do with the plant and gives great advice and tips. You can tell this is a guy who loves his plants. Follow him on facebook for updates on what plants he is selling and when he will be in the garden.

Shamus is great! He’s super knowledgable and took the time to teach us a ton of stuff. He’s also way cheaper than the big box stores. Thanks Shamus!

Nice sized inventory, very helpfull. My first mango tree I purchased here almost 4 years ago gave me 17 fruit this summer, a Carrie mango. I visit 3 – 4 timer per year to see the new stuff. Highly recommend
