Dear St Vincent DePaul, I donated an entire living room plus clothes & complete set of plates & cups today. I called to request a pickup over 1 month before the pickup. I spoke 2 separate individuals regarding all of the items that I was donating. I also explained that there was a very important meeting that I needed to attend, & that there was a 1.5 hr window that I was not available. Today was the day of my pickup. So not only did the drive come in the exact time I told your representatives a number of times that I would be available, the driver was extremely rude & refused to take some items. First of all, I understand that you can not accommodate everyone’s time requests. But to give me an 8 hr window in which I can not do anything, is 100% unacceptable! Your driver had 6.5 hours to work with me, and he was unwilling to help me! That is ridiculous! Second, I spoke in great detail regarding the items that were to be picked up. I did not lie about the tv & entertainment center. I was reassured that the items could be picked up. But your extremely rude driver was unwilling to take the tv & center. I understood why he didn’t want to take the center, but not moving the tv was beyond unacceptable! I asked him to call the office to discuss my request & he rudely refused. The problem with your driver’s unilateral decision was that it left me with a tv that needed to be removed from my home within the next 15 hours. If I knew 1 month ago, when I initially called your office TWICE to discuss all of my donated items, that you would not accept the tv & entertainment center, I would have made other accommodations ONEMONTHAGO. Instead I am now left with these items a few hours before I move to another state. Moving is a very stressful process & your organization made this day 100 times worse than it needed to be. It is extremely disappointing that such a well known organization could be so disorganized! I am very disappointed with this experience & I will voice my concerns through multiple websites. Being Catholic, I chose your organization because I wanted to give back to other Catholics. Needlesstosay, your organization could not be more disappointing as compared to other well-functioning Catholic organizations. I really hope you take this letter to heart, so that you never put another person in this position! I have never written such an angry letter, but I believe you deserve to know the type of people working in your organization. I’m fairly certain that me & my friends/family will never donate or volunteer to your organization again.

Teeny little store that could, you really can’t tell this was a thrift store because it looks like a church and campus rolled into one. It is the St. Vincent de Paul campus downtown but you can find it easily once you get into the parking lot. There is a big yellow sign in front of the door to the store. I came after seeing some ads they posted on their FB page about a Mother’s Day sale. Small inventory but they surprisingly had some good selections on clothing that day. Not too much furniture at this location and the customer service was very friendly. If you are not too sensitive about the area, then you just might find some vintage finds here.
