Amazing Service and Amazing Meat! So thankful to be able to stop by on my way home for work and pick up quality meat with top of the line service. Thank you!

My better half is total Anglophile (don’t get it twisted though… he’s from Cleveland). His greatest breakfast love is the Bacon Butty, which, at its most basic (and his favorite) is broiled English-​style bacon (rashers) & HP sauce on white toast. For his birthday I wanted to cure the bacon myself and surprise him with a Bacon Butty breakfast.
One problem: no one had the requisite cut of pork. I called five places before HOBE Meats referred me to the The Meat Shop. NOT ONLY DID THE MEAT SHOP CARRY IT, BUT THEY MADE SURE I’D HAVE IT **THAT DAY**. I needed it ASAP, because it takes 3 – 4 days to cure, and I sorely underestimated the availability of the pork cut I needed. The Meat Shop even offered and sold me the pink curing salt I needed.
IN SUMMARY: I couldn’t have pulled off such a total birthday success without the The Meat Shop’s generous help on short notice. I have been back since, and I have loved everything I bought. The ground beef is second to none I’ve had in the Valley. The Meat Shop has earned a loyal customer in me. Thank you!

Discovered the Meat Shop when looking for a nearby place with bison burgers. This easy to miss storefront is worth the trip! A large selection of fresh cut meat and frozen specialty meats. I’d imagine they are able to fill custom orders with notice, too. Service was friendly and we were in and out in under five minutes. Just enjoyed the burgers off the grill, delicious!

We were visiting Phoenix for Dodger Spring Training 2016 and wanted to have a nice steak. After searching Unilocal for meat shops, we came across The Meat Shop.
Well we weren’t disappointed! All the steaks we purchased tasted great!

Josh was the person we talked to. Great selection and fair prices. Would highly recommend. We’ll be coming back.

Id give more stars if I could. I just love this shop! Great product and friendly amazing staff. I go on the wait list quite frequently for the pork belly and it is so worth the wait! Their beef is just a delectable, and this coming from a porker! I cannot rave enough about how wonderful this place is! So happy to be back in the valley close to them.

They cut top round roasts for me regularly… Best beef for making beef jerky. Never fatty.

Okay, I needed some quality steaks for Christmas dinner so I scoped out the Meat Shop, based on my friend Wendy’s recommendation. I was not disappointed. The shop is extremely small with a pervasive smell of bleach. Not a bad smell for meat shop since they were cleaning the cutting stations.
I didn’t arrive until 2PM so they had sold out of many cuts. I still got what I came for: T-​Bone steaks. They had seven left and that’s what I needed! I told myself before arriving not to overfill the freezer. Should have listened to my own advice cuz I also got a pound of ground beef, two packs of brats and then they tossed in a pound of porchetta brats.
Nice touch. I will update my review after TASTING the offerings.

Well, since this is where I get 90% of the meat I cook at home… I figured I should do a review! Love this place! Special cuts, cuts to order… there isn’t much they can’t or won’t do for their customers. Oh, and the pork they sell is from their own pig farm and they have local grass fed beef.

Great local/​farm butcher in the Valley. I use them for some regular cuts — but mostly for sausage/​charcuterie making. They have ready-​to-​grab items right in the entrance, or can custom make whatever you need. Order bulk meat too for your freezer. Nice people, clean shop.
Biggest challenges with them are the wait list for certain «hot» items like pork belly or pork jowl fat. But when it comes, it’s like Christmas.

For three years now I’ve bought a whole pig from these guys for a pig roast, and for three years it’s been delicious. They do a great job of butchering and prepping, and my guests are always thoroughly impressed.

This place is awesome. My doctor told me about this place and how healthy this meat is compared to the grocery stores. From the outside you would never even thought twice about this place. The staff, selection and prices are fantastic. Glad I went in and now go every week.

I have never been disappointed with pork we have purchased here and the smoked shanks with the pork flank made an excellent bean soup. I am so happy to see this business grow and still maintain the quality. Plus I am very happy to support the local farms and ranches.

An excellant alternative to avoid commercial food, small mom and pop place and has almost every traditional butchery items, really wish they had head cheese or blood pudding (food regs mightg be keeping them from making and carring it). The only downside is that eveything seems to be 11.99 a pound and comes frozen but 11.99 a Lb can be pricey however these meats are better than the commerical chain grocery store.

The wife surprised me on our anniversary with a cookbook. This is a risky anniversary gift for a dude, since most dudes don’t get overly excited about cookbooks. This dude was excited though, because the cookbook wasn’t an ordinary cookbook. It was a Feastbook. Specifically, a Game of Thrones inspired cookbook complete with medieval meals transcribed word for word in barely readable Middle English (thank you Mrs. Petticord, for requiring us to read Chaucer). The meal we picked required squirrel. Enter the Meat Shop.
If there is a reason for a place called the Meat Shop to exist, it is either to sell things like squirrel or because prostitution has been legalized. And while I’m all for the legalization of prostitution, I’m also glad there is a place in Phoenix that sells squirrel.
How do you eat coney? Young, tender, nice coney? Eat them raw! Eat them fresh! Or… put them in a stew like a good Hobbit. Am I mixing my fantasy worlds? Perhaps. Regardless, I enjoyed my 17^th Century Hobbit meal from just south of the Wall.

Stopped by here today to see where they’re located and what they’ve got. It’s a very small little place, and would be quite easy to miss. On their website they give really good directions, and you have to remember to watch for the Laundromat next door.
Inside, they have a nice counter setup as well as a freezer chest. All signs and prices are prominently displayed, and it truly has the look of a good old-​school butcher shop. You can see the folks in the back busy carving, cutting, trimming and filleting. Everything looks very clean, professional, and tidy (you know… for a place where they’re slicing and dicing dead animals!!).
I came here with one big purpose in mind– to find some of the elusive ‘hanger steak’. I asked about it at the counter, and they were only too happy to take a little bit of time out of their day and talk to me. Apparently there’s a waiting list for that particular cut, so they took my name and information, and told me that they would call me when it is available. They were very pleasant to speak with, and more than happy to assist a customer even when they were busy.
If I lived closer then this would definitely be a regular place for me to shop for meat. As it stands, it’s a bit far away, but it will still be worth the trip if I can get some hanger steaks there!

Forgive me, my dear vegan friends. Close your eyes… this one is for the meat eating minions!
You looking for something special? Maybe some bison, or perhaps some venison or other exotic meat. How about rabbit, lamb, grass fed beef, or even some English bangers, or sugar free sausage? This is the place to start looking.
This is a small but mighty butcher shop in a very industrial part of Phoenix. It is non-​descript, clean and neat, and friendly. They own a small farm where they get their supply of pork. They also support other local farms for their other meats. They hand butcher, they smoke their own meats. Their steaks and pork chops are beautiful and thick. Their sausages can be purchased in bulk or as links.
I tried to pick up a chunk of smoked bacon. They were out, a run on it I guess, but that means it must be… terrific. Instead, I selected a small chunk of smoked ham hock, skin on, to make a pot of savory bean soup to celebrate the Fall of 2013. And a one inch thick, rib cut pork chop, and a package of freshly made breakfast sausage patties. We will eat well during our visit to Phoenix.
The lady behind me chose the one remaining 2 inch thick, bone-​in rib eye steak. Then dared to ask them to cut it into two thinner steaks. Can you imagine that? Aaaarrrrgh. Mr. B started to cry and called out, «Don’t do it!» The butcher gave her a stern look and said, «Listen to the man!» But she didn’t. We tried but failed. Pray for that steak.
Finally, if you dare, get on their list for the «prix de la journée», some succulent bone marrow bones. Apparently worth the wait, as the list is quite long. But that day will come when you will get that call to go pick it up. You will find yourself slurping up that tasty roasted mess and declaring you are now ready for the end of the world.
A great place to visit, so sad we have nothing like this in my home town.
