A few months ago, my family and I moved to the Phoenix area. We were in desperate need of finding quality barbers in a family-​friendly shop. My visit to The Shop was pleasant from the moment we walked in the shop to the end of our visit.
Desiree cut my son’s hair and did a great job! I don’t like visiting barber shops, but the environment was professional, and I didnt have a long wait. We’re making The Shop our family’s barber shop.

This is the place you want to go for a killer fade. I was New in town, went to Lefty’s based on the Unilocal reviews and pics, and just walked in. I had my hair cut by Andre and one hour later he had me looking so sharp. Did razor work too for a clean hard line on my part. I was completely happy with his work, I recommend you try this shop out if you’ve never been. Also very cool and welcoming atmosphere, and the shop was kept clean.

Awesome shop. I checked it out before I brought my little guy in because we’ve had a few bad haircuts for him at other places. This place is legit! They were so patient me and with him. They did a good job on my husband too! Totally will be back. Thanks again!

Best. most professional shop in Phoenix. I’ve tried several shops in Phoenix and this is by far my favorite.

This shop is the Best! Been coming here for 2.5 years now and each time I look forward to my visit. The guys in the shop are cool, everyone is having a good time while cutting hair and making the day go by.
My barber Damos, is the bomb. He does a great job on my hair, what little is left… and he always keeps the time while I’m in his chair fun.
I totally recommend this place to anyone that goes to anyplace else… stop spending money at places where you just sit there… come to the shop by Lefty’s and have a good time while your hair is cut!

Took my step son in today, Mike did an awesome job on his hair! Walked in with much too long, outta control hair, he brought out the beautiful texture & curl! Can’t recommend this place enough, so friendly and talented! All this at the right prices too! We will be back!

When I first came to AZ for vacation, I was in desperate need of a cut. My long time friend and barber from back home suggested I stop by Lefty’s.
When I walked in the barber shop, I saw about 8 or 9 barbers on staff, a open space with t. v’s mounted playing ESPN, and a lighthearted atmosphere. The place was clean and I was greeted by the staff. The owner D cut my hair and was very personable.
I recently moved to AZ and even tho I live 40 mins away, I still will make the commute to
to Lefty’s! I encourage anyone who has moved to Maricopa county to patronize this business!

My son has been going here since we moved to az over 3yrs ago. Very nice place to go with friendly and real people. These guys are like a family now they always make me and my son feel welcome.

Maaaannn !!! Lefty been cutting my hair for about 8 years now. And I’m proud to see that he has created the classiest and most professional black barbershop in the country. From the entrance to the atmosphere, its no wonder that it’s the best barbershop in town and always packed. I drive all the way from N. Scottsdale and even when I lived in Vegas whenever I came back to Phoenix I made my way out to Chandler to get my cut. You playing yourself if you go to another barbershop. This ain’t no game! This Lefty’s !

This is a very nice place. I must recommend Cory. She was my stylist back in the ATL. I moved and had to find a new stylist. A few months ago Cory informed me she is in PHX. I was so excited. Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls if you need a relaxer or you are natural Cory is your girl. If you need a conservative or funky cut Cory is your girl. If you need a weave once again Cory is the expert I would recommend. PHX has some good stylist but Cory has brought the ATL to PHX. I am so glad I have my girl back to take care of me. You should give her a try you will not be disappointed. I traveled from N. PHX to Chandler just for Cory. She is worth the trip. I wish she was closer but hey I will follow her anywhere in PHX metro she is just that good. Cory I am so happy you are here!!!

What a great experience! Cori was great! Everyone was «out of their way» friendly. Price was amazing for how long Cori spent with my son’s hair! Probably about an hour or more. She listened to what he wanted even though he didn’t even really know what he wanted. My sons are a mixture of black & white. I have been trying to cut my kid’s hair since they were little and now they are teenagers and need a proper «man» cut. I didn’t know where to go because every time I go to a salon or barber in my neighborhood, we are literally turned away. Every one refused to cut their hair because it is thick, long, and curly. I had one woman tell me it would take her about 5 hours to comb it out and she’d have to charge like $ 300. I tried an upscale barber at Scottsdale Quarter. 2 different stylists came over, assessed the situation and said they were not equipped to handle it and sent us on our way. One of them was a black man so I was sure he’d know what to do. So I gave up for years.
But today my son had reached his tolerance limit with his messed up «mommy cut» hair so I did a search for black + hair + Phoenix and found Lefty’s. I went to their website and watched Lefty’s story and knew I wanted to go there. I called and they told me to come right in, no appointment necessary. It’s a 45 minute drive but worth it! We got in and were greeted by several stylists/​barbers. No wait. Place was super crowded, they let me come back with my son and just hang out. Got to enjoy little children and their cuteness, the latest gossip about «Empire», and some laughter. Finally a place that doesn’t freak out when I bring my curly-​headed sons for a haircut. I’ll be going back to have Cori cut my hair too. I have straight caucasian hair but they are great at all hair types.

My first time here but from the looks of it, everyone knows how to give a good cut. Everyone’s super friendly and the music is on point, which is always a plus.

Lefty’s caters to a predominantly African American crowd. Don’t let that stop you from a great barbershop. I was the only person in there that was white and In a Hawaiian shirt. The hip hop beats in the room and a large screen tv had the game on. The gentleman against the back wall named Ted (who is also from Chicago like me) is a great barber.
Attention to detail was top notch. He asked me what I was looking for on the sides and top. My haircut was fantastic. I didn’t even ask but he cleaned up my ears. Shave cream and then A hot towel were applied and then a razor on my neck and sideburns area. He then asked about my eyebrows and clipped to the perfect length.
They get $ 22 for a haircut which is a fine since even though I have very little hair on top I’m still priced the same. Parking is out front. Don’t be scared when you open the door and hear the music. It’s s great haircut and relaxing experience.

New to the PHX area, first line of business was finding a shop where I can get cleaned up and stay on point. Troy, aka T-​Breeze took care of me, cleaned up my blow out fade, tapered me up to perfection, all the while he and Big Mike also put me up on game about the spots in the area to kick back and chill. Made me feel comfortable, very clean, cool, upscale vibe to this shop. Brothas in there can cut. Video games on deck hooked up to a 75inch samsung for you or your kids while u wait for your cut. Appointments available, which is always a plus. Highly recommend this spot.

Great atmosphere! Friendly service! Professional cuts and even do razor fades. They give $ 5 off for military. Worth a visit.

The best barbershop I’ve come across in Phoenix hands down.
Being from the east coast tri-​state area, I’m particular about my haircut and these guys did not let me down.
The barbers pay attention to the details and will make sure you leave looking the way you want. I recommend checking out Damos Lott… he can cut!
The shop is big, bright, and clean… and conveniently located right off of Highway 10.
There are always more than 5 barbers working so the wait is never too long.
The atmosphere is welcoming for families.
Definitely check out this place… you won’t be disappointed!!!

The man right here is Mr. Damos Lott! My 4 year old son is a regular! He keeps his sideburns tight, he gets sooooo many compliments! Damos is down to earth, keeps it real. I recommend everyone come to this shop. The owner and I share the same home state so I get love every time I go. Check ‘em out.

Damos Lott: I moved to Phoenix about 2 ½ years ago. I did my research and found out which barbershops were the ones to go to and luckily Lefty’s was in my area. Damos was the first and only barber I’ve been to and hopefully will ever have to go to in Phoenix. He’s become more than just a barber. He’s become a life coach, mentor, therapist (lol), financial advisor, handy man, uncle and friend. Also, he’s there to kick your butt whenever you need it. Preciate ya Big Dawg!
The Shop is more than a barbershop. It’s more like a social gathering. A family atmosphere and this is a place where you can go to talk about just about anything, have a few laughs and get a fresh cut.

This is a really great barber and I’m glad I found them because some of the other barbers in the vicinity have fallen into disorganization or poor service.
I walked in off the street today and although they were pretty busy, Andre was available to cut my hair right away. He did a great job and had really impressive attention to detail. There were a lot of other people in the shop and they have several TVs, video games, and quite a few interesting conversations going on. This is a place where you don’t have to just sit silently and get your hair cut – you can join in the conversations and generally have a relaxing time.
I would recommend this place for any type of haircut. They also have a new salon in the back where they do ladies, although I didn’t venture back there.
By the way, the Unilocal map displays this shop in the wrong location. It’s right off Chandler Blvd. and 48^th street in the plaza with Waffle House.
