Unique Pianos Consignment Showroom

I needed some cash and decided to consign my piano. I signed a long form where I wrote in the minimum $ that I was willing to take. The form also stated that the sale price was not my concern. I get it. So what if Unique Pianos makes a lot or a little above my price? Phil and his helper picked up the piano and took it to the showroom. A few months later, my fortunes changed, and I asked if I could have the piano back. Phil scheduled a delivery date and promptly brought back my piano. He moved it twice, with no charge either time.

No STARS– BEWARE!!! My mother consigned a parlor grand piano with a beautiful expensive bench –after several years Piano was returned with bench MISSING. Owner refuses to communicate to resolve issue and now we are in litigation.

I consigned a baby grand piano through these guys several years ago and were it not for my efforts probably never would have gotten paid. After consigning it there was absolutely no communication from the owners despite my checking in every few months. Finally, after about a year and a half, I stopped in at the store when I was back in town to see what was happening. At that time I found out that the piano had been sold but was being refurbished first. After another few days, I finally got my money, but I never saw documentation of what the piano sold for or verification that I was receiving a fair share. Luckily I had picked up the piano extremely cheap and they gave me enough to cover my costs, but I have no idea if I got a fair deal or no and in talking to other people since then I realized that I likely walked away from several thousand dollars. These guys may know there pianos, but they don’t know how to run a business.

I want to like this place, I really do, but I just can’t give it any better of a review. I felt pressured to buy a piano from them when we were browsing, and I felt that I overpaid for my piano. But I knew that I had fallen for the tricks, so I wasn’t going to fault them on that. My piano didn’t have a bench with it in the store, but I was told they would find a bench for me. They did bring me a bench. It was broken and had a dirty band-​aid in it. I called and they said someone would come out and fix it, but it’s been months and I haven’t heard from them. Also my piano is missing a wheel. I don’t know if this was always an issue or if it happened during transportation, but I noticed it about a week after it was delivered. I was also told someone would fix that and it has never happened. I have called them dozens of times, and only occasionally do they call back. I regret buying my piano from them.
