As a small business owner, I would highly recommend that you never ever use Waste Management for your garbage service. They are extremely overpriced and do not offer any quality of service. I have had their service for 10 years and cannot wait to cancel. Being a busy professional, I was paying my statements without noticing that they continued to rise. When I started with their company, I was paying $ 55 per month for 4 dumps per month. As time when on, my bill raised to $ 175 per month. I found another company that was willing to handle our trash for $ 65 per month flat rate. I contacted Waste Management to cancel our service and was told that I was in the middle of a contract and could not cancel. As I read the fine print, AND PLEASE READ IF YOU DO CHOOSE THEM, I could not cancel any earlier than 180 days prior to the renewal less than 90 days. If I did not cancel 91 days prior to the renewal, I was told it would renew for another year, which because I called at 60 days prior to the renewal, I could not cancel for another YEAR. Circumstances changed a bit and I needed a locking can, I called and was told it would be another $ 185 for a new can (which belongs to them). Needing the can, I agreed. The can was delivered over a week late with no lock or instruction. I then received a bill and was charged the $ 185 for the can, $ 15 for a lock never received, $ 49 for gas to deliver the can. As you can see, their extreme fees are completely unacceptable. I truly wish I could get this message to any person thinking about signing a contract with their company as their business practices are completely unethical.
