After seeing the 4 star rating, my wife and I figured what the heck. We will give it a try. Boy, were we disappointed. We started off with soups. She ordered the chicken noodle soup and I ordered the soup of the day. Her soup was just ok. Just be forewarned that they put potatoes in their chicken noodle soup. Neither of us had ever seen that before. I don’t know if that is an Italian thing or not, but it really takes away from the soup. In my personal opinion, a soup should not have two starches. I’m no soup expert, but that’s just how I feel. My soup(I forget what it was called) tasted awful and looked like dirty dishwater. The bread they brought to us tasted musty and was hard, like it had been sitting in someone’s basement for a couple of days. For our meals, I ordered the chicken marsala. It was ok. Not great but not bad either. My wife ordered the ziti with meat sauce and a side of meatballs. My wife is a very picky eater. So when she said that she did not like hers, I had to try it for myself to see if it was just her being picky. I will say that the sauce was decent and the pasta itself was good. However, the meat sauce seemed to be of a low quality beef/pork/chicken variety. Also, the meatballs she got were not cooked through and had pink in the middle. All in all, not a very good meal. Ending on a positive note, our server was pretty good and the owner seemed nice.

We have visited this wonderful Italian restaurant several times and I am FINALLY getting around to write a review. As you have probably already guessed with my mention of visiting several time that we like it. We don’t like it, we love it!!! The owner is wonderful and helpful. He always comes out and chats with us and makes us feel like family. We are whole food, plant based eaters and boy, oh boy does this owner accommodate. He offers daiya cheese for any sandwich, stromboli or pizza and if I bring some animal-free pepperoni he very happily pops it right on our pizza for us. We feel so very lucky to have found this wonderful place! The service is always good, what more could anyone ask for? Not one thing!!! We will go back again and again and again and we recommend this great place to all our friends whenever we can!

Had the absolutely best pizza ever at Franco Ristorante. They make a great thin crust, and topped it with the vegan cheese we brought, plus their own mix of tasty veggie toppings. Such great food and wonderful people.

I was driving through Phoenixville last Saturday night, and I was so impressed by the center of town that I said I had to come here for lunch. I work close enough that I can get here in time to have a quick bite, but I rarely come here. So I decided to swing up here on a Monday to explore during lunch hour. I soon realized that was a mistake because almost nothing is open. Lesson learned. I’ll admit that I wound up in Franco’s by default because it was one of the few places open. But after my experience I’m glad I did. I found an owner who was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I found a veggie Stromboli that was freshly made and quite hearty. I found a restaurant that is most definitely a return trip to this area. Franco’s originally got my attention because they were open. They kept my attention because the owner was so friendly and the food was worth it.

My wife and I were acknowledged, with a friendly greeting, by Oscar. He really made us feel welcomed. This set the tone for our meal. Our waitress was Darlene, who was very attentive. She came back several times to make sure all was well. I ordered the personal pizza called Gabriella and was very satisfied. It’s a combo of broccoli, artichoke, red peppers and spinach. I brought half of it home and my son jumped at the chance to share it. My wife ordered the fish filet with French fries. She said the fish was cooked to perfection. She said It practically melted in her mouth. My wife and I had a really good«date» and we will definitely go again!

I finally got around having dinner at Franco’s! I always loved the lovely seating outside and the simple looking restaurant. We came here on a Saturday night for dinner and we got seated right away! We started with the wine and fried calamari. The calamari was pretty good but it seems like It was frozen. No complains since I liked it and finished most of it. I ordered the chicken bruschetta salad and if was HUGE with a nice amount of chicken and garlic bread! my dad had the personal pizza which is also enough for two(or one if you’re really hungry) I had a slice and it was delicious. I gotta say, the portions are big and the prices are very reasonable. Everything is homemade and everything seemed fresh! I would love to come back in the future. It will be my new dinner spot in phoenixville.

Very good traditional pizza and stromboli. Never order a white pizza it is horrible. Also beware they stop delivering an hour before closing.

Holy Daiya batman! I’ve never received such a generous mount of cheer of any vegan pizza I’ve ordered before. Maybe for good reason, a little goes a long way. Be sure to ask for light Daiya when you order. Besides that the pizza was fantastic.

Best Italian food you’ll have outside of Italy. The staff is super friendly and the business is all family owned. The prices are reasonable for the excellent quality food. I go out of my way to go to this place time and again. I’ve even driven over 6 hours just to taste Franco’s delicious pizza and pasta. I love this place! I’ll definitely be back for more!

When I’m out in the country, it can be hard to find vegan-friendly restaurants that make my whole family happy. They’re used to American fare, so my usual haunts(Thai, Indian, and Japanese) don’t really tempt them. Italian, however, makes them happy, and Franco’s has vegan cheese, so that makes me VERY happy. We came in on a quiet weekday afternoon, and saddled up in a comfy, cozy booth. The menu is standard American-Italian food, the kind I’m used to not being able to order off of. But there it was — vegan cheese pizza!!! The menu is very meat heavy, so there were only a few options that were made vegan by swapping the cheese. I chose a personal margherita pizza with Daiya, and was delighted with my meal. The crust was doughy in the feel good, homey way, and still not overly chewy. The ingredients were fresh, and my leftovers reheated beautifully. The personal was big enough for two meals. Yum! I wouldn’t hesitate to come back next time I’m home and in the neighborhood.

Locally just the best pizzeria in Phoenixville sometimes less but 99 percent of time the best. Ask for Franco himself…

A nice friendly place with good food and a quiet booth for pleasant conversation. My wife and I met another couple here for lunch on a midweek afternoon. It was not very crowded. The portions were of a good size. The waitress took good care of us. It’s out of our area, but we would go back if we were in That area again.

Great pizza, and stromboli. It is really nice they have vegan options. the food is pretty good for what I’ve had so far. But I will never go back. The staff was super super rude to my mother on the phone. She literally ordered a stromboli and a pizza and the man said«Woah, hold on, I can’t write that fast! Slow down!» For 2 items… Then, when we got there to pick up our order, we found that the man who took the order got one of the items wrong. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get the order corrected. We were totally ok with that, people make mistakes, yet everybody was still cold to us, like WE did something wrong for them mistaking our order. Management was doing paperwork and paying bills in the dining area. Didn’t look up, didn’t greet anybody who came in. They gave us a discount, which was nice and appropriate, but the price for our vegan pizza and stromboli came to $ 43.00WITH that discount. Will never go back because of rude/cold staff, unwelcoming atmosphere, and high prices. I’d rather drive further to get vegan goods from people who deserve good business.

Crust is like I’m used to from growing up in north Jersey, arguably the best pizza around. And one of the few places with mussels! Also they’re good about changes — I ordered the broccoli raub and asked for hot sausage(sliced) added and it was great. If you prefer real sausage rather than stuff that looks like rabbit pellets, ask for sliced sausage, btw. Franco says people mostly want the pellets, but again it’s a north Jersey thing not to eat that.

We made a point to visit this unassuming and homey family spot after hearing that they made vegan pizza, which you would never guess from walking by. They will make strombolis too, with Daiya(«DAY-uh») cheese, which we have found to be the best out there if you need that flavor but don’t want any cows mistreated. It is also cholesterol-free. I bet they could make their Italian fries with it too. There is no bar but plenty of takeout beer(they want you to come in the back for that), also lots of wine, and even a tray of tequila and such for shots, funny. Loud traditional Italian music plays, which my spouse said made him sad, although his pizza made him very happy. The kind teen behind the counter didn’t roll his eyes when we asked for the vegan pizza and gave us excellent service. The medium is perfect for two hungry people, 6 small slices, and wonderful crispy thin-ish crust. The Daiya costs an extra $ 3.50, oh well, and we loaded on the toppings. Our meal with one iced tea cost $ 20. You would think there would be more veg food in Phoenixville than there is. There are certainly a lot of vegans and vegetarians awaiting it.

This is a small Italian eatery on main street. They have some availability to sit outdoors on a nice day. Occasionally, they will try to have live music in the establishment, but unfortunately the venue is too small to effectively fit both music, even if it is a single acoustic performer and diners. They frequently participate in the Phoenixville Bar Crawl events that occur several times in town throughout the year. Even though they are part of the crawl, the term bar is used very loose here in the sense that you can get full service cocktails here, but you can’t actually sit at a bar due to it’s small size. During our visit, I had their personal size pizza. It was fresh and of good quality and hit the spot. There was nothing that would make me say it was spectacular or awful; it was just a good pizza. Like many local Italian restaurants we’ve ordered from or visited over time, this place has a menu with a large variety of food selections. When visiting earlier, we were told all the items on the menu are«fresh,» but with such a large menu it would be hard to stay profitable if everything is fresh, with no frozen items. Service here is moderately slow, but satisfactory. We didn’t see our servers frequently during our meal and we didn’t feel they had a sense of urgency, but they were friendly and courteous. Overall a solid local Italian restaurant. It wouldn’t be my first choice with so many strong dining options in Phoenixville, but if you need something to hit the spot this place will do the trick.
