Really good Mexican for pheonixville area. Prices are CHEAP but it’s cash only so beware. $ 6 for super generous guacamole on nachos which is awesome. The tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are good. The tamales were not good though, so I’d stick to the other options. We came in for take out on a slow Sunday and the service was super friendly and we got our food in about 15⁄20 minutes which is pretty darn good.

Always on the lookout for an awesome taqueria since we moved from south Texas. Took the fam on Friday night for dinner. We had the restaurant to ourselves with the exception of one other table. Wife had enchiladas verdes, daughter the chicken flautas, me the tacos al pastor and son a quesadilla. The only meal worth noting was the tacos which were flavorful and done up right with the exception of the corn tortillas which were on the wet side like theyd been steamed. The flautas were light on chicken and what there was had gotten so tough in the dryer as to be inedibly tough. The enchiladas were close to tasteless as were the rice and beans. Prices were reasonable but the food was way subpar. If you can afford the drive there is much better authentic Mexican in Manayunk or Conshohocken.

Price is right, but the meat leaves something to be desired. I liked this place the first few times I came, but I lost my taste for it pretty quickly. There is something wrong with the texture of their tortilla chips… thick & heavy with an overly fried taste to them.

Nice hole-in-the-wall place. Not very busy and food for decent prices. Food is pretty good. Nothing too special, but better than I personally make at home. Our group got caught not having cash, even though the door has the credit card sign. Had to send someone to an ATM to get money to pay while the other stayed and watched Wheel of Fortune on the small TV in the corner.

I can’t think of one thing I dislike about this place! A truly family run restaurant, that has the best Mexican food around. Eat in or takeout it’s always as good or better than the time before! I guess the only thing I wish they did is breakfast because I bet they would make a awesome breakfast burrito! Thank you for giving an alternative to the way over priced and over rated place on bridge st!

Consistently the best Mexican food around. Food is always unbelievably fresh and always made to order. I have never had a less-than-great experience here, and I’m fairly certain I never will!

Yum. Yum. Yum. So fresh. So tasty. So much food for the price. Take out is great too. I love the tex-mex burrito. However the dinner platters are fabulous too. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu– and I think we have tried everything!!! Just yum!

I’ve had my share of hole-in-the-walls, and usually they’re like diamonds in the rough. The real deals. Authentico. Not Lost Mariachis. They might be Mexican, but the food just wasn’t right. It started with difficulty placing my order with a younger man who seemed normal, but might have been on another planet. I was clear in my order, but was asked by someone else what I wanted. Ok. So, after placing the order and paying, we waited about 10 minutes in the restaurant– zero warmth, zero ambiance, zero… anything really. Before the food came out, I was called to the register– they’d made a mistake and charged me too much. Ok. I took a few sodas and some extra salsa to make up the difference. Food came out and we went home to enjoy/examine our food. Tortilla chips were thick, stale, nasty. Threw them out upon first bite. Rest of the food was bland. I’ve given up on finding good Mexican food in this area. I’ll have to get my fix in next time I’m in VA– El Charro can out cook these places with their eyes closed and hands tied. Seriously.

I would have given them 4 stars if it weren’t for the fact that they only take cash even though the sign on the door says they accept all major credit cards. I had to go look for an ATM. They should’ve explained that their credit car payment machine wasn’t working when I was ordering. Now on to the food, its good. I like the soup, their tacos and the guacamole, and the rice. However, the service can be a little bit slow if there’s a big crowd.

I house sat a few minutes away from this place and decided to try it out. We got our chips and salsa, a red salsa which was too hot to even eat by itself and I am a HUGE spicy person. The other sauce given was like a blended guac? They were delicious together. I ordered the cheese enchiladas verdes while the other part of my party ordered the red enchiladas. The green sauce was okay but not fantastic the red was pretty classic. I was very impressed with the beans, the taste and texture was awesome. I can not say the same for their rice. When I first got my plate it smelled like Mac and cheese and I think it was the rice which was a little flavorless but again good if you ate it with the beans. Overall I wasn’t too impressed. And there is also a sign that states you have to pay for extra chips and salsa, I’ve never seen that at a Mexican restaurant before.

I eat here way too much! I love it. Family owned and operated. This is real Mexican, not the polished chain Mexican you may see in new shopping centers– which I like too.

I decided to go here on my lunch break and I wasn’t impressed with the food. It was very clean which is always a good thing. But food I decided to get was burnt, but the ladies were extremely nice & friendly!

My friends jokingly call this place, «Little Mexico» it has zero curb appeal, but don’t judge a book by the cover the food is authentic and delicious! I ordered chips and guacamole which is heavy on the lime, but delicious anyway! I also ordered a chicken burrito that was huge and very tasty. This is turkey the best Mexican food in the area! We will definitely be back!

Meh! Not awful, not really good. Authentic? Well, not in the way I’d desire. Also serves Tex-Mex. Again not bad, but I’ve had much better. I guess I’d say, overall, I wasn’t impressed. Perhaps this a good choice for Mexican in Phoenixville, but a short trip to Norristown provides much better Mexican cuisine. But it still beats On The Border type Mexican. Still wondering how they legally sell Margaritas(hell they have a sign on the door) when they don’t serve beer or other alcoholic beverages.

Made a trek out here for a Friday lunch with three co-workers. A group of us have decided to search out good Mexican places for lunch. One of the group suggested this little hole in the wall. Now, one of the guys in our group is from Texas, and incredibly particular about his Mexican food. So I’ll take his opinion as gospel. I will say first of all that he approved. The chips and salsa were like this… the chips were fresh and crunchy with no salt. The red salsa had probably too much kick and not enough flavor if you know what I mean. The green salsa was more of a hit. We also tried guacamole, and although it tasted good, it had too much of a tomato and onion ratio to avocado. That is, not enough avocado for my tastes. We all got various dishes. Everyone seemed pleased. The guys got combo dishes with two or three things on them. I went for the Huevos Rancheros and a couple of pupusas. The huevos plate was $ 6 for a huge portion with rice. Can’t complain about that. The sauce on the huevos had a lot of bite to it but that was a good thing. I’m a fan of the pupusas as they had a good amount of pork in them. The Texas guy called it some of the best he had so far in our area, so that’s high praise. It also pleased one of the group who does not usually eat Mexican food. So again, high praise to impress someone who doesn’t usually go for it. If there’s one area that elicited disappointment, it’s that two of the guys weren’t’ a fan of the tamales on their plates(including the Texas guy). They thought they were dry and not that tasty. So it’s 4 stars instead of 5. But it’s a pretty solid 4.

Los Mariachis is hands down the best Mexican food in Phoenixville. We usually order take out, and it never disappoints! I usually get the Tex-Mex burrito and a Glass bottle Coke… Awesome!

Un-air conditioned :-( But fast, tasty take out, a friendly owner/family atmosphere, and people who are cooking like they would for their families. Yes, that means there are probably hit and miss nights, but overall, I’m thrilled to have Los Mariachis down the street. Now if only we could update the décor a bit? Prices are insanely good, and I am absolutely in lurv with the chicken Enchiladas de Mole served with rice and refried beans.

Strangely enough, it’s not easy to find good mexican food in this area. Qdoba, Chipotle and the like are all well and good for lunch, but if you want to find the real deal it’s sort of hard to come by. Los Mariachis is a great place to get some good, cheap mexican take out. I’m a big taco fan, so I got 3 tacos(spicy pork, al pastor, and tongue) and all 3 were great and flavorful and 2 bucks a piece. Awesome deal. We also tried some of the stuffed pepper, enchiladas, and tex mex tacos(which I think are more«americanized» tacos with flour tortillas), and all was very good. So, they’re not reinventing the wheel here or anything, and it’s not trying to pass itself off as some fancy pants restaurant, but this place is a great go to place to get Mexican.

The tacos are great and carnitas are wonderful if eaten on premises or taken a short distance(they do not travel well). They have Menudo on the weekends, which is quite good. Its a huge portion, so dont order a lot of other stuff if you plan to get it. Large selection of Mexican soft drinks and horchata.
