Pj’s Coffee

This is third visit here and have to say that this café has improved since my last visit. Cakes are now kept covered with cling so they taste fresh instead of the dry offerings of our visit over a year ago. A pleasure to visit this coffee on a Saturday afternoon.

Every time I walk into PJ’s everyone stares at me. No idea why.
Very rude clientele. (see first con)
They close at 7 during the weekday and even earlier on the weekend.

Interesting social experiment to see how mediocre a business can be if you hire luke warm staff, have zero competition, and own a market with plenty of customers. Their food is ok, their coffee is ok, the customer experience is rotten.
I would stop going if their was another option within 15 miles.

The staff is friendly and remembers your regular orders. Coffee and pastries are good. The local atmosphere is great with always having someone to have a conversation.

I was in town visiting family and I stopped in for a quick coffee before seeing my sister. I ordered, verbatim, a large iced coffee with a shot of espresso. The woman was pleasant enough and told me it would be a minute. I waited and looked around at what felt like the regulars looking me up and down and then asked the woman behind the cashier if they had sugar free hazelnut and they did! So she added it and I paid for that.
When my coffee arrived I grabbed it and ran out.
It was horrible. Just horrible.
It didn’t taste like coffee. It didn’t fast like hazelnut. I didn’t taste anything actually.
I grew up visiting this town and the surrounding areas since most of my extended family lives here and this is most CERTAINLY not «new orleans coffee».
Maybe I ordered wrong? I gave them an extra star just for that.

PJ’s is a good place to get a great cup of coffee and a pastry in the morning. The sandwiches are good and the service is friendly.
