I visited this coffee shop last week. The previous review holds true. Great product(coffee and pastries are great) but they have bad customer service. I like to drink steamed milk and drip coffee, however, every time I order it seems to puzzle the staff. I end up having to get steamed milk and expresso. The place is not very clean.

I been to this location, south gate, Lynwood and Huntington park and I’m always greeted by friendly employees(but personally I prefect this location better because of the drive thru) I love their pastries, drinks, and atmosphere of Tierra Mia There’s always a line but their pretty fast and the wait is to worth it and they have never had my order wrong You definitely have to try the horchata frappé, it’s a must!

This place has the best Horchata Latte, in my opinion, all of the coffees are good lol. The shop is super clean and the staff is beyond friendly. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because of the drive-thru, it’s super slow, on a weekend night it take about 30 minutes to get in the drive thru, order, and get the coffee, which is weird because of you go inside you get it in like 10 minutes, and the window is on the passanger side so when I go alone I have to get off and go inside.

Tres Leches Muffin… warmed… not good. Why would anyone eat this? Lukewarm corn muffin that tasted like sweet plastic. Really bad. But if you like Costco muffins you might like this.

You don’t want to come here and order just a cup of coffee, these people get confused. There’s not a coffee pot in the place. We brought our own cups, 15 minutes later they’re still doing the pourovers. Not much variety in breakfast bites, either. We talked to a friend who ordered an «Americana»(shot of expresso & hot water intended to imitate a real cup of coffee) & he said it sucked. The pourover wasn’t good, either. Much better coffee just about anywhere else.

I find their coffee a little strong for my taste, however I still like it, specially when I drink the coffee and eat their tres leches muffin. The muffin is very moist. I like the fact that they have a drive– thru but since it’s located on the right side, it’s difficult for the driver to make the payment and hold the cup of coffee.

The coffee is good. Unfortunately, the«leadership» here has absolutely no customer service skills, they don’t value customers and they are dishonest. On 3 different occasions I was charged for large drinks when I clearly requested small. When I brought this issue up to the supervisor on duty she brushed it off as if this was standard practice. When I asked for the store managers name I was told that his name could not be disclosed. Wtf! I had to look around for a brief moment to make sure I was at a coffee shop and not at the CIA headquarters. Lmao. I supported this company because I really wanted to see it grow, it’s a shame that they have zero integrity. If feeling valued as a customer and expecting a company to operate with integrity is too much to ask for then you should reconsider spending your hard earn cash at this establishment.

Hands down my favorite craft coffee roaster! However, my favorite drink is not a coffee brew, but the horchata frappé. I’m telling you, this rich flavored drink marries the authenticity of one of Latin America’s favorite drinks, with the modern iced coffee frenzy. Their bread is baked daily. One of my favorites is the banana nut muffin. I’m also big on ambience and atmosphere. Tierra Mia not only makes exceptional drinks, but also has great staff and is a a good meeting location to sit and chat with friends while listening to Latin American artists.

I wanted to come to a place that’s independently owned, because I feel that the big coffee shops make a lot of money, so I like to support the«under dog.» With that being said, my friend looked up the closest coffee shop by Montebello and Whittier. We came in, and the barista taking our orders was very patient while we took our sweet time on trying to decide on what sweet drinks to ask them to make. I ordered a small honey vanilla latte. It was frothy, and delicious. I like that she asked if I wanted it in a paper cup or ceramic mug. The place was clean and spacious. The music, since it’s a «Latin American» place, was kinda obnoxious. No, I’m not trying to be racist or rude, but whoever they were playing was whiny and annoying. Kudos to them, for having a drive thru! I’ll be back, as Arnold would say.

This place is the ish, way better than Starbucks, and when it comes to hot chocolate this is the place to be, on the frappé side you can’t deny the sweetness and tasty favors as far as the bake goods I would say the tres leeches muffin is the best they have to offer don’t get me wrong all the other muffins are good is just that the tres leche sus my fav and the most popular among customers, the only reason I won’t give this place a 5 star is because after 7 is hard to find your favorite muffin then don’t have a good inventory of muffins :(

4.5 stars It was worth the drive out here for us… the horchata frappé made us do it and it was worth it! We really just leave our house, make a 20-minute drive, take advantage of the drive thru and go home. Lol. We got: 1. Horchata Frappé — GETTHIS! You pretty much need this in your life. 2. Horchata Latte — If you do want a warm drink, get this, too! You also need this in your life. 3. Chocolate Mexicano — Chocolate-y with some cinnamon makes for a nice hot chocolate… not bland either. 4. Chocolate Mexicano Frappé — So good! Their frappé version is slightly better… actually, the frappes that we got were really good and I’d say that they’re better than the warm version of the same drink flavor. 5. Tres Leches Muffin — I’ll keep getting this every time they have it available. The muffin wasn’t dry and there was plenty of milk in the center. 6. Pina Colada Muffin — This was interesting and had a lot of flavor. I would recommend this to try. 7. Horchata Latte Cupcake — The frosting tasted exactly like horchata but the actual cupcake itself was really dry. However, I would get this again just for the frosting alone. We appreciated the drive thru but I never really understood how drive thru’s have you pick up your order on the passenger side(especially if you were to go alone). That’s the only annoying part, but the people working there are really nice and friendly. Overall, highly recommend!

It’s a Starbucks with a Latin twist! Amazing choices and delicious pastries. I got the rice and beans frappé and I tried the horchata latte cupcake and tres leches muffin. I got the muffin warmed up. Luckily it was my cheat day. Highly recommend this place. Great service and spacious. Great for a cozy date or to hang out with friends.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker and I LOVE this place! When I do drink coffee though I love unique favors and Tierra Mia delivers! I have tried: *Coco latte — coconut flavored coffee. Really great flavor of coconut melded with coffee *Rice and bean frappé — Chocolate and horchata flavored frappé. So good and you can chew on the chocolate bits *Horchata frappé– Name says it all. If you are a fan of horchata, adding coffee and blending it takes it to a whole new level. *almond danish pastry — bought this on a whim. The girl behind the counter warmed it up for me and it was really good! The outside is crispy like a croissant and the inside as almond flavored filling. It was great too because it wasn’t that sweet. They have other things on the menu item like smoothies and teas, which I am looking forward to trying. I feel like all the drinks are really affordable and you get a sizable size for less then $ 4. The workers are always really nice and willing to explain items on the menu when I have questions. All the drinks are usually made pretty fast too. Is there a bad thing about this place? Yes! I have to pass by it everyday as I go to work! So hard to resist. =P

Really loved not only the coffee but also the service here! Our drinks came out quickly and were made perfectly, they really have some of the best blended coffees around! Prices and portions are fair, the quality is excellent, the store clean and well kept with easy parking and plenty of seating. One of my favorite places for coffee, cannot wait to be in the area again to be back for more!

Their coffee okay. But the specialty coffees are amazing. Horchata latte is so yum! And their baked goods are tasty too. The location is kinda hidden in a small strip mall and the drive through is awkward. But the inside is clean and quiet. Perfect to relax and study or chit chat with friends. The staff always seem kinda rude though. :/

That 5 South freeway had two lanes closed down due to construction and I was detoured over Slauson… Normally, I would’ve been majorly annoyed… but then I saw this DRIVETHRU Tierra Mia! I love love love drive thru service and was thrilled to get my hot Horchata Latte without getting out of my car! Now that I know about this location, I’ll purposely make the detour, voluntarily!

I came to California for my Marine Corps Battalion 1⁄9 — The Walking Dead Reunion. I stayed nearby this awesome coffee shop and all of my Marine Corps Brothers would rave of this place prior to coming from Dallas, Texas. My very first stop prior to going to my reunion was to come to this shop and get a Cubano con Leche, and my wife got their Horchata Latte. Let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS!!! ALL of the hype that I heard of this coffee shop was true. I definitely have become a fan of this coffee shop!!! I can’t wait to return back to Cali just so that I can visit this coffee shop.

I defintiely enjoy Tierra Mia coffee. This location is half way between my place and my bf, so once in a while we’ll detour through Pico Rivera and stop for a cup of joe to go. I’ve enjoyed their lattes and frappé(no whip). The last time I had the Rice and Bean frappé, it was way too sweet for me. Probably going to skip the frappes from now on. I realized how much sugar is in it. I’s much enjoy the Cafesito Cubano con leche. That’s a good strong latte, no sugar. Friendly staff. There are so many of them working. You shouldn’t be waiting for your drinks for very long. Good place to sit and enjoy a drink with others.

Channeled my inner hispanic/latino side last weekend. Juan Estaban(alter ego) Approved! Background: A fellow regular at Café Roule dragged me here saying«You should go to my hood to experience great coffee and that you’ll fit in quite well!». After 30 minutes of prodding and saying fluffly stuff about this place… we were off! Location/Parking: Located next to a Chase. Plenty of parking to go around! Drive Thru: Yes, they do have. Seem like it takes longer to get drinks from the drive thru then just going into the coffee shop physically to order one there. Ambiance/Décor: Felt like home. Very comfortable and the latin vibe was a plus. I was the only asian one here at the time and didn’t recieve any death stares. The patrons were so inviting and friendly. Had a conversation with one of them who drove all the way from Orange County to get some coffee. That right there is dedication! He recommended everything on their menu, but for a newbie, he recommended the«Rice and beans» drink. Service: Baristas were very friendly and attentive. Drinks came out at a decent rate. Drink of choice: Horchata fans REJOICE! «Arroz y Frijoles» or anything horchata related drink is their bread and butter. From the looks of it, most of the patrons ordered the horchatta latte or the frappé’s. This day I had the horchata frappé. I thought the frappé was really good. I would recommend asking if they can make it ¼ or half sweet. The other downside about the drink is that I tasted some of their coffee grounds in the frappé. Not sure if it’s normal, but other than that it was an awesome drinking experience. Would definitely come back when I’m in the area.
