This is not a top choice winery.. on the shopping trail is more like it. Only come here if a half wine drinker. sweet wines such as muscato and muscadine. Not a real decent white or red to choose from. I wanted to believe the reviews but will not return…

Had a great time on our girls’ trip! The tour guide(facility was small… or at least the area we were shown looked small) was funny and the tour didn’t go on and on and on… The tasting was entertaining and when there’s wine, there’s not much to complain about :) Overall, very enjoyable… Everyone we encountered was friendly and engaging. Oh, note, the tours end at 5(I think)…so may want to call to make sure if that’s something you’re interested in…

Being from central California I will tell you that all the wine in this region are SWEET! That being said I can still appreciate a good sweet wine. My husband and I liked their Black and Blue and purchased a bottle to take home. My favorite thing about this place was the gift shop!!! I could spend a lot of money in there and would have if I lived near by! Lots of unique items for wine lovers. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Stopped in here just a few minutes before closing — not planned, just saw the billboard from the main road as we were touristing it up nearby — to pick out something new as a gift for a friend. Even though we got here just before close, the staff was very friendly and knew just the right wines to bring out to get me to make a purchase. Went in for one bottle and came out with three — two for the friend and one for me!

We are wine snoobs and we were pleasantly surprised. We did the tasting with the sweet wines. However the frozen wine was our favorite. Staff was pretty friendly!

We really enjoyed visiting here while we were in town and sampling their wines with their free tasting. There were several that we enjoyed and purchased, but our favorite was definitely the Black and Blue! We stopped in to get a stamp on the local winery tour card(you can earn free wine glasses by going to 3 or 5 of the ones lister), but we were pleasantly surprised to really like their wines!

Did not do a tour but tasted the red wines and purchased a bottle of Barbara. The staff was very know legible of the wines and my taste and also of the area. Really good experience!

This was right by our condo. Free samples are a plus. I purchased the Pinot grigio. It was very good. I brought a bottle home also. I wish I would have been able to take the tour but we were headed home. Friendly staff!

This is one of the five wineries in the Rocky Top Wine Trail and my favorite overall. The servers are very knowledgeable and friendly. This layout is one of the best. The wine tasting is next to large windows where you can watch the process and take tours. It is also away from the store portion and you aren’t running into people trying to shop. My favorite wine here is the Vino Rosso. It’s described as Welches on Steroids. Very good and on the sweet side for those of you who like sweet wines. They have a Black and Blue which changes flavors as you take more sips. Definitely a winner. Definitely a favorite for us and we visit here whenever we go wine tasting.

This was the third stop on the Rocky Top Wine Trail for my friend and I. It was definitely our favorite winery to visit, mostly because of Kev. We didn’t feel rushed at this one, even though they were busy. Kev was rotating between us and another couple, so we had plenty of time to savor and taste each wine. Our favorite by far was the Black and Blue, which is a blackberry/blueberry wine and delicious. Between the two of us, we ended up taking home about 7 bottles of this stuff. We would definitely return to this winery in the future. It’s definitely a place to go!

We were very excited to check out a local winery & have some fun doing a wine tasting. Disappointed is an understatement! There was no real order to anything & once we were able to get a spot at the bar, the girl that served us was less than friendly. She was slamming bottles on the counter & told us NOTHING about the wines we were sampling. In addition to the terrible service, the wine was swill. I’ve found better tasting wines at a grocery store. They also advertise a tour that starts every 30 minutes, this attraction was non-existent. Don’t waste your time going here.

Hillside Winery has a nice selection of wine. They have bubbly wine, which ranges from dry to sweet and more dry wines than many of the other wineries. This was our last stop on the wine trail and I enjoyed the tasting experience here. The staff was informative about how to taste the wine and were not pushy. We did purchase one bottle and were informed that they also ship wine in quantities of 6.

The first winery on our wine tour in good olé Pigeon Forge. You weren’t going to find us at Dollywood… so we gave this a shot instead of staying in our hotel room before going hiking the rest of the weekend. Kevin K was a great sommalier and very, very knowledgeable. He is passionate about this winery and it really shows. The wine isn’t honestly anything to write home about, but we enjoyed this experience enough that I wanted to support the winery! We weren’t too impressed with the other 2 wineries…

This is hands down the best winery in the area! I’d recommend going to the other two wineries first — The Applebarn and Mountain Valley — and just trying like maybe a handful of a their terrible wines so you can get your free wine glass. Go to the Hillside winery last and you will leave there pleasantly buzzed and with drinkable wine. Not only was the wine master Shane super knowledge about the wines but he let us try as many wines as we wanted. My group really liked the sparkling wine that tastes a lot like Asti and also the Black and Blue wine made with berries. We had such a great time here! We all left with big smiles on our faces and several bottles of wine. When you go there, ask to see Shane, he is hands down the best wine tasting host I’ve ever had.

This is the best winery in the area, hands down, no questions asked! I’ve been here a couple of times for part of the wine tour(which I highly recommend) and every time I’ve had an absolute blast! The people working here are amazing and really love their jobs! It’s a great relief. The people doing the tastings know what they’re talking about and genuinely want to have a conversation with you. They have no limits on how many varieties you want to try either. They also have a shop that has the cutest wine type accessories. I’m a fan of fruitier and semi sweet wines, and its hard to choose what to buy. Buy a 3 pack for yourself or split it between others in your group and it’ll be cheaper. Also be prepared with a driver as they don’t skimp on the samples, so you can actually enjoy and fully taste the wine. I recommend trying the Black and Blue, no matter your wine preference. It’s unique and interesting in a very good way!

A very enjoyable place for wine tasting. My husband and I had an enjoyable conversation with the person pouring our wine taste tests. He explained in detail about the wines and what they would go well with. We also talked to the vintner, who was very laid back and told us about his job as a wine maker. The wine was very good and my husband bought a few bottles. We would come here again.
