Love this place. Hand dipped paradise. The best most expensive milk shakes in livingston county.

Delicious soft serve– creamy and just barely frozen, the kind you have to eat as it melts. Prices are so incredibly cheap too– $ 2.50 for a small cone. They have a ton of ice cream flavors and dozens of ways to customize your choice with sundaes, toppings, and malts. I live 30mins away and it is definitely worth the drive!

Absolutely delicious ice cream at a very reasonable price! Possibly my favorite in Washtenaw county. The staff is very friendly and helpful, service is quick, and portions are reasonable. We live about a 30 minute bike ride away and its one of our favorite spots to go!

I tried oatmeal ice cream this trip to the Capt’n. It had a vanilla base with crumbled oatmeal cookies and what seemed like a little caramel swirled through. Yum! The counter help was fast and the order was correct. The place is usually busy but it is worth waiting a few minutes. I found it funny that two other customers appeared to be Texans like us — or at least one had on a Ft Worth t-shirt and the other had on a UT burnt orange shirt.

It’s still here 40 yrs later and it’s still the best soft serve ice cream around. I didn’t say custard I’m talking soft serve ice cream

This is a very good ice cream shop. my favorite is their milk shakes very yummy but it’s kinda pricey I think they should lower the price a little bit. They also have great employees which is helpful will definitely be going back!

Kind of pricey for a small town ice cream place. I paid 3.55 for a SMALL vanilla malt. At least it tasted awesome but still would be nice to find a place that’s reasonably priced for the sake of enjoying it often.

Huge sundaes! Island crunch. Enough to share. Great hours. So glad they were open until 9pm on a week night. Cheap too. Hand dipped or soft serve options available. Great stop if you are in the area.

Classic old fashioned ice cream shop with both hand dipped and soft serve. They seem to have it all. Nice friendly and fast service.

Some find it reminiscent and nostalgic, but I’ve never felt such a connection to this captain. The ice cream is usually freezer burnt(full of ice crystals) and nearly flavorless.

I just moved to Pinckney and we came to Captain Frosty tonight and we learned that it is quite the PInckney hotspot. There were lots of people there, even though the temp was hovering around 30… like true Michiganders we were all eating our ice cream in the cars with heat on :) This place has an assortment of hard ice cream, and then vanilla, chocolate, and twist soft serve. It seem that their true claim to fame, however, are the sundaes that they’ve dreamt up. There is a whole menu of sundaes and they look AMAZING. We did not order any, but someone else who was there did order one and it was huge and delicious looking and we will definitely be back for one! There is also a ‘Checkerz’ sign on the side of the building where I believe they serve the basics, burgers, fries, etc.

Like that they have both hard-pack and soft-serve ice creams. Very reasonable prices, I had a small M-36 pothole sundae… lots of chocolate and real whipped cream.
