Absolutely the best mechanic I have ever been to in this state! Affordable, honest, and friendly service. Definitely worth the drive.

I will now be suggesting to all of my friends and family to use Bird’s Auto Repair.
After getting two different quotes on my car here in the Twin Cities (between $ 800‑1000), I was told about this place about 40 min outside of the Cities, so I checked it out. Grand total (even after adding two services he caught) $ 340. I even asked him to fix something that he KNEW was covered by a dealership warranty and he wouldn’t do it, even set me up with the guy up here so I didn’t have to go through more hassle.
Full 90K tune up, oil change, tires rotated, check all fluids (replace fluids), new spark plugs, fix two leaks, replace leaking gasket, clean breaks, tighten bolts, etc etc…
I was in a rush and the owner (Jason — typical small town MN guy, freakin awesome), so he let me borrow one of the shops cars until mine was done. He even came in on a Saturday (when they are typically closed) to make sure I’d have my truck back sooner.
It just goes to show how leaving the cities for 40 min can save you $ 700 and the back breaking prices of the dealerships in the cities.

Owner is friendly and is there getting his hands dirty fixing your vehicle. We often leave our vehicles overnight and drop the keys off in the drop box. They are currently expanding their building. Easy to stay and shoot the breeze with the owner. He’s friendly, no nonsense, and very honest. Not pushy at all. Much better than getting service at a dealership. Bravo!
