This was a fun place to stop on our way back down from Mt. Laguna. The décor is fun and definitely fits with the dinner theme. My boyfriend and I got a couple of wraps that weren’t that great. The onion rings on the other hand were a little bit better, greasy though. If you are in the area, it’s a fun place to stop for a pit stop.

Great customer service, way better than the Junction in Descanso. And the food, let’s just say awesome!!!

Here for breakfast on a Sunday drive. Terrible food, no flavor, cold, horrible service. Overpriced. AVOID at all costs!!! PS– got sick within 20 minutes.

Great place for breakfast before hiking in our local mountains. They open early a big plus! And Pine Valley is a cool little town. If you love biscuits and gravy, this place does it very well! Better than anything I can find yet in San Diego, and I’ve lived in this city all my life.

been here twice now. The service is top notch. Food is exactly what you want in a diner. We will keep coming back.

Honestly, iffy at best. The food is fresh from the frozen section of Costco and the service is a bit slow. On the other hand, the 50s diner feel is nice even if the décor is sometimes out of place.

Stopped here passing through town on a long motorcycle ride. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I had the Denver Hash and a coffee. The food and coffee were simply mediocre in my opinion. The eggs were over cooked and the hash was under cooked. The coffee was simple pot coffee, which was unexpected when the place is labeled as a «Coffee shop». I’ll probably try another place if I’m in the area.

Just passing through and decided to grab some breakfast. A pretty solid breakfast just as you would expect from a diner! Try the biscuit and sausage gravy!

On a road trip with DD&DH. They’ve been here before and raved about the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs breakfast. DD worned me that this breakfast is a big portion and there would be enough there to share with her. She was right and I’m glad we did. The sevice was wonderful and the atmosphere charming. It’s hot outside already and I’m happy they have air conditioning! Can’t wait to come back! I posted a picture… half an order was just enough!

I quit coming here a few years ago because the service was just so slow. But the food was great. Our motorcycle group decided to give it another try today. There were 11 of us coming in behind another big group. They handled us quickly and the food was still great. Majors is back on our list of food stops in East San Diego County.

Rude and they let their only good barista go. I was with a group of people who had just purchased $ 40 in coffees and hot chocolates when we were asked to give up our table in the coffee shop seating so they could seat people for the dining area. I’ll never go back.

Great place for a quick stop for breakfast or lunch heading to L. A from El Centro. Best pancakes I’ve had in a long time. Nice 50’s atmosphere. We will be back next time we are passing trough town.

Pine Valley is out of the way. Major’s Diner is worth the effort of getting there. Really, just off of Hwy 8, this diner is awesome. We took my dad up for his birthday. He could go anywhere and this was his choice. He had the roast beef and cheddar with sweet potato tots. We all had something different. I asked the waitress their specialty, and she said if I was still in the mood for breakfast to order the biscuits and gravy. Made fresh every morning from scratch. I usually order a side of sausage, because very few restaurants have enough in the gravy. She told me to save my money, and she was right. There was plenty in the awesome gravy. Everyone left full and satisfied, and the bill barely dented my wallet. The young lady that was our waitress made the wait staff at some very high end restaurants look bad. This young lady could give classes on customer service. If you’re going through Pine Valley, or at least get a little close, don’t miss this awesome diner. Stopping there will be the best decision you’ve made all day.

The food was better than I expected. Lunch was busy for a Tuesday. We got the Santa Fe sandwich and the turkey croissant. Both were really good. The onion rings were good but a few were mushy. All the fries we got were mushy which was disappointing. Cheap bottles of beer and julian pie, overall we were happy and would come back.

This is a great place to stop for some good eats. I only had breakfast but it was on point. The pancake was good with zero uncooked batter in the middle, the bacon was amazing, nice and thick cut, and the biscuits and gravy was superb. The ambiance was very subtle but still cool. Elvis, Marilyn, James Dean, even Gary Cooper was on the walls. I recommend this place when you are driving by. There is also a very nice park that makes for a nice walk after a great meal.

2 egg build your own omlet with hashbrowns was buttery and delicious. Excellent bacon, and tasty biscuits and gravy too. Hit the spot after a 4 day bike and camping weekend.

I was looking for a place to have an «unusual lunch» and this was it. The service was instant and friendly, the«unusual lunch» was the best of its kind that I’ve ever had, the facilities, including the restroom, were clean, the dining room was spacious(not crowded with tons of tables), the menu was varied, with lots of tasty-sounding food items, and the prices were reasonable. What was my «unusual lunch»? I was looking for a vanilla malt, made with real ice cream, and triple(or more!) malt! Mike, the waiter who’s usually a cook, made me the most amazing vanilla malt with so much added malt it was crunchy, just like I like it! I will be coming back here, if not for another malt, then for some of their regular food, because everything that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious. Thanks, Major’s, and especially thank you, Mike!

When we walked in– no acknowledgment. One waitress saw us and just kept going. Finally a gal told us to sit anywhere in front room. We sat at bar since the only table available was dirty. Food is not great. Ordered burger well and fries crispy, burger came out pink, lettuce looks like they used last weeks produce and the onions were small pieces from the center. Fries were cooked in cold oil and greasy. Waitress never followed up after she dropped off food– so hubby flagged someone down. I asked them to recook the burger and it came back with something slimy on side? No one ever came back to check after when the new burger was brought out. We finally ask the other waitress who happen to be walking by for our check. Used the 15% off offer on Unilocal also proved to be a challenge. To the waitress who serve us– a quick«how is everything» goes a long way. We still tipped 20% off the full amount but truly the service and the food was –2%

There is a warm charm that permeates this place, one that immediately makes you feel welcome and at home. It’s something more, because the staff will all greet you as you walk in. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and I was pleased with the simple and uncomplicated sandwich, that was incredibly tasty with just the right amount of savory spice. The chicken breast was savory without being greasy and wallowing in batter. The simple ingredients didn’t hamper that tasty goodness either, like you see all too often in similar sandwiches where they drown in mayo! Not here… Major’s Diner knows what’s up, and they do it well. By the way, they even have a coffee bar… bonus! Get over there, and dig on the 50esque décor and the happy vibe. Make sure you use your Unilocal 15% meal discount too for this place. When we were there, they were still getting used to inputting Unilocal discounts into their system, but were happy to oblige.

This is a solid restaurant in the important genre of «low-key diner-type place serving tasty food very close to cool outdoor activities»(I’m thinking of some of the disappointing restaurants near Zion, as other elements of this genre.) A few miles from the Noble Canyon trailhead, this was the perfect place to fill our cravings for substantial food and cold drinks after a ten-mile uphill hike. Sandwiches were hearty and pretty good. My green chili burger was far better than I expected, with a big green chili on top, rather than just the contents of an old can. And the accompanying onion rings were extremely good– somebody should give their fry-cook a raise.(The less said about the pie, however, the better.) Service was also very friendly– they brought biscuits for our dog, four kinds of hot sauce and a little blue cheese sauce, and were happy to chat with us about the menu items. They also didn’t bat an eye at the fact that we were covered in dirt and sweat. I wouldn’t drive miles out of my way to get here, but if you’re hungry and emerging from a hike in the forest, stop here without a second thought.
