Sidewinders Tavern and Grill

My friend and I went to Sidewinders to celebrate her birthday. We couldn’t decide what to eat so we ordered a few different things and shared. NY burger, fish tacos, side of onion rings… it was all good and the waitress offered to have the burger split and we each picked a side. Homemade chips and fries were amazing! Our server was great and the owner even came and visited with us for a few minutes… can’t wait to go back!

So was down from Portland OR and decided to drive for awhile into the snow .so ran into this town called Pine… and stopped in a place called SIdewinders where the staff seems to know most of their customers by name. .hit the menu and then the staff came up with some Tuesday specials including a meat loaf burger which the person next to me was having… The staff was great… the food was good… the choices were too many… for a small town bar and grill hurray… to SIDEWINDERS… And may I recommend this place to you… remember…when you get there… that everything must come in from a long way… and to have the choices they have for the prices that they do… well…good for them…

We’ve had a vacation home in Pine for 3 years and finally got around to trying Sidewinders Tavern and Grill for dinner. The tavern has about a dozen dining tables and all of them were full. Our food server took care of us quickly and she was very nice. It took a while to get our food, however, probably because of the crowd. Fairly large menu! Our party ordered Sidewinder hamburger, pork tenderloin, hot dog, and for an appetizer we had the wings with hot wing sauce. We all thought the food was good or very good. We ordered the hot wing sauce with the wings but it did not come with blue cheese dressing – but I am sure we could have asked for it. Prices were OK. We will be going back.

My family (9 of us) came in for lunch 12÷27÷15. The service was great and the food was even better. If you haven’t been to Sidewinder’s in a while, you should try it. Huge improvement from the past few years. Not sure but I think it is a new owner. Good job new owner! We will be back.

Great place to go to. The food is better than any other bar I have been. The staff are genuine and love their patrons. Overall a very well run establishment. I look forward to a vacation were I can bring the family there and enjoy a night out

This restaurant, has terrible service! Food orders take a very long time, menus are dirty with food on them, the owner doesn’t do much but stand at the end of the bar & stare! He should take a cloth and clean the menus! The food is so so, the bands that play their are very good!

3 stars because the food was yummy. I had the BBQ burger and my boyfriend got the pulled pork burger. Both were delicious. However the service was absolutely terrible. We didn’t get menus till we were about to leave and it took 20 minutes for our food to come out. They must rely on locals for their tips and business cause that seemed to be who they were taking care of. Bummed because the food was good but I don’t know if I would go back based on their service.

Solid bar food, for when you want to ride back roads from Phoenix to Winslow for lunch, but can’t make it because of freezing rain over the rim.
Sometimes things don’t work out as planned for a reason. This place was terrific.
Try the fish tacos and wash them down with a Blue Moon on tap.

Nice surprise. Bartender knows all the locals name and story. Fast friendly service. Sliders were great along w/​the sweet potato fries. Naked wings were crispy and didn’t need the sauce that was on the side. Dogs allowed on patio, water served to them straight away. Will stop by when passing thru next time.

My husband and some friends rented a cabin for the weekend. On our last night we decided to stop by. For a Saturday night it wasn’t too busy so we got a table right away. We ordered our first round and it took a while, and we just ordered some draft beers. That was when I noticed that our server was actually behind the bar getting our drinks, when the only 3 or 4 bartenders were too busy chatting or just standing around. I thought that was kind of weird. Well, one of the beers we ordered was apparently out so my husband only got about a half a glass. When our server came back she told him the tap needed to be changed and she wouldn’t charge him for the half a beer. He said, «ok, I’ll wait and while I’m waiting I will take a michelob ultra». We waited… And waited… No beer. We all finished our first round and she came back to take our food order. No worries, maybe she didn’t hear him or she thought he was joking. She came back with our second round (tap still wasn’t changed), which she had to pour herself, again (when she brought my husband his michelob ultra it was warm…) We got our food… My husband ordered the shrimp tacos… He ended up getting the fish tacos instead. She apologized, saying it was her fault and she wouldn’t charge him for another beer. One of our friends ordered a salad that was supposed to have avocado on it. So she went back to the kitchen to get some and the cook apparently denied her and told her flat out that he put avocado on it and wouldn’t give her any to bring back. She came back to our table and told us… He hadn’t touched the salad at all yet and there was no avocado. So she went back and he gave her some. Come to find out, the two salads at the table had been switched and the salad that actually came with avocado was given to another friend (which we didn’t notice until we were finished) So yes the cook did put avocado on it. But for the cook to flat out try to prove us wrong in the first place. It’s not like we were asking for the whole salad to be made again. It was just a little avocado. :/​all in all, the food was pretty good tho, for bar food. I don’t think we would go back… Maybe it was a bad night? I’m not sure. We just were not feeling it and it was kind of frustrating. Our server was good, the problems were not really her fault. Just kind of a weird situation.

Great place to go! Speghetti dinner on Thursday night is awesome and there is alot of it! Great meatballs… Ribs on Friday night are soo yummy but they run out fast so go early! Keep up the good work!

And then there’s Karri. I swear she must be psychic. If she knows your «usual», it’s already half way to your table by the time you sit down and then it’s like she knows the moment your ready for a refill.

Place is great! I had the Pastrami Burger and it was delicious! They also have a good selection of beers on tap.

A good place to watch football on a Sunday afternoon. They have 3+ tables of Texas hold’em. Lots of TVs dedicated to the Cardinals. Good wings and sliders.

Strong drinks, and the bartender (forgot his name) was on point. The band… awesome, some local guys from Payson…3 dudes that just jammed out. They are here a lot I guess

Sounds like they had a change in ownership not too long ago and things are definitely improving. Not that they were ever bad, just nothing special. Lately the place has been packed, service is better and food is definitely improving. Taco Tuesday is now our favorite and most of the food is a step up from the usual bar food we used to get. I’m a martini fan and although the bartender hesitated when I asked for a sour apple one (said he had to think if he had everything) he made one great martini for me (actually two!). We love our little place in Pine and are glad to have somewhere local that’s good.

Today was my first time visiting this place. I loved it. The food was delicious, the prices weren’t too high, the service was excellent, atmosphere was pleasant, and the live music was AMAZING. The men playing blues live was just perfect. I will definitely come here again soon!

Thanks for all the great feedback. We are constantly a work in progress. Please join us for great food, great company, and a fun, super charged atmosphere. We have recently remodeled the patios to make them more dining friendly. One is a smoking patio and the other is non smoking. Please continue to five your feedback as we do take it very seriously.

Look I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here. I understand it’s a sleepy town on a Thursday night. I know it’s slow. Only about 8 – 10 customers in the whole place. I understand the bartender may want to go out to the patio to have a smoke. No problem. But when I have to get out of my seat, walk to bar and stand there with an empty glass in my hand, not once. not twice not three times but on four separate occasions maybe it’s time to think about your customers just a bit more. Even after all this I am still willing to give you a break. But when you do come inside from your little private party I don’t need attitude from you. Sorry I interrupted what ever was so important.
I’m giving you two stars because you did have Lumberyard on tap. Although I only had ½ a glass because the keg was out. No mention of changing it.
