WOW!

At first I had high hopes for the company, until installation day.
They send out a ghetto contractor, who left after 20 minutes with no warning. 5 Minutes later I received a call that they missed me and would like to reschedule, are you fucking serious? I just talked to the guy!
Then I rescheduled for early AM, 8 – 10, and got a call at 10 saying my appointment is for 10 – 12. WOW. Way to run a business.
Wow.

If you’re thinking about switching to Wow, think of it as the Spirit Airlines of internet service providers. They are going to try to charge you for everything, but they are super cheap and will get you where you need to go!!! I hate Brighthouse with a passion, so I was super excited to switch to Wow. The internet speeds have been amazing. I have zero complaints about the internet service. The internet went down one time because of a storm and Wow had to come out and fix the problem with their lines. We had a little communication problems at first with the first agent (although she was super nice, she made a mistake in telling the tech to come out). The next day we called again and complained, the service tech was out in less than an hour — probably about 30 minutes. He couldn’t fix the problem, so the maintenance guy had to come out — and he was out there within 30 minutes from that. They were SO nice and SO respectful of our time and I truly felt valued as a customer. They did try to charge us for the protection plan ($ 5 a month), but when I called to have that removed, again they were SO nice about everything. If you realize ahead of time that they will try to nickel and dime you, you’ll be satisfied. Just call them and have them remove whatever charge. And if you refer friends, you basically get your month of internet free!

My experience with WOW has been very different from the other people on here. The technicians that have come out have been SUPER friendly. The guys that came out in the rain we had in July all put booties on their shoes before coming in the house (every time by the way) to keep our floors clean and were extremely friendly. We recommended them to our friends down the road and they have had the same results. The installer actually my pregnant friend take her groceries in when she got home from the grocery store!
I will say we had a power surge that took out the cable lines during a storm. We made our first call around 9:30pm Friday. The lady we spoke with said we would have to wait until Monday for a service technician. We said that wasn’t good enough, she said we would receive a call that night or the next morning to see about getting us taken care of sooner. No call. I called back about 3:30pm Saturday. The lady I spoke with on the phone was awesome. She worked through the problem (I was not very happy when I called) requested a supervisor call which was what the other lady said she had done but she had not. We got a call in about an hour that a tech would be on the way to fix us up — he showed up 10 min after that and got us half way working, but the surge had blown out the tap and maintenance had to come replace it. They were there in an hour after the tech left and replaced the tap and tested the line all the way back to the amplifier. Have not had a problem since. Both of the techs that day were extremely friendly and we were promised a discount for our disruption in service.
We will stick with them!

This company is not honest.
I signed up for service in 2013 at the guaranteed rate of $ 60 per month for TV and Internet. The first couple bills were for about $ 65 with tax and stuff. Then over the next 6 or 8 months it crept up to $ 82. I had a guaranteed price of $ 60 per moth plus taxes and stuff till 2016.
Every time the bill went up I would call and complain and they gave me excuses and denied that I had a guaranteed price. After the second price increase I drove out to the WOW office on Gandy Blvd and showed them the paper work.
They could not have cared less.
I would have switched to Brighthouse but they were more expensive.
Several weeks ago my remote stopped working correctly and I called them to get it replaced. They told me that there would be a $ 40 charge for the service call.
I could not believe it. A service charge for replacing defective equipment…
I was also having issues with slow internet service and undependable tv signal. Shows would freeze and the signal drop out. Once again WOW told me that there was a service charge for coming out to look into the problem.
A month after turning in my equipment and disconnecting service, they sent me a bill for the next months service. I was on hold for 28 minutes waiting to resolve this and never spoke to anyone. It was 7:15pm on a Thursday night and they were open for business, just too busy to answer my call.
I am Wowed, but not in a good way…

HELP!!!
My phone number is being held hostage by WOW!
It is now scheduled to be released on May 6^th. We’ll see. I started this process back in March. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER do business with WOW! again and will warn everyone I know to AVOID WOW LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I just got $ 40 internet /​tv bundle, they are charging me $ 72! Almost double, get bright-​house the service is better and the same price. Dumping these crooks.

Internet. Just internet. After two initial install snafus, a supervisor came by for a QA check and resolved everything. Now have blazing internet for much less $ quoted by Bright House and Verizon. Happy cat.

This is an updated review for my other one. Requested they come out and replace the cable that goes from TV to hub. They charged $ 50 to do this, which was fine, we knew that going in. But the tech who ran the wire (probably a subpar contracter) stepped on the ventilation fan over the bathroom, it broke through the ceiling, and it now protrudes about 3 inches down into the batthroom. No one ever mentioned it to us, but they did forget to take their fish tape as partial payment for repair.
I think the next incident will send us back to airwave provided entertainment. SERIOUSLY. Don’t want to deal with them anymore.
They get an «E» for effort (after a call to the company president) but they just don’t pass the course.

Update — Wow! kept raising my rate on a regular basis with no improvement in service. Almost a bait and switch operation. They were offering new customers 10 times the bandwidth at a lower price. They refused to give me the same price. I also talked with other people who had had Wow! and been over charged and denied promised services. I changed providers.
I had Bright House Internet and was overcharged and underserved. Wow! is a fraction of the price and the service is better. Their initial installation was not right, but since they sent the right technician out to fix everything, I have had no trouble at all.
